Great app

I was in a pinch for a shoot and this app worked flawlessly with my iPad on a beam splitter and using my iPhone as the controller. Thank you very much!

Response from developer

Thank you very much! I'm so glad it was simple and effective to use, especially on a last-minute shoot. Happy shooting!

Overall great app

This app works flawlessly on my MacBook. The only glitch is that when I try to use it on my iPad you can’t move the text so that it’s positioned immediately below the camera. Fix that and it’s perfect!

Response from developer

Thanks a lot! You're right: on some iPads the text can't go right under the camera yet. A fix is coming in the next update.

A life saver!

This is one of the only free apps I found that shoots and exports in 4k. The voice following prompter is occasionally buggy and I use the manual setting and simply time it out for my clips. Overall a great app once you master and learn it.

Response from developer

Thank you so much for this wonderful review! Voice tracking got a big upgrade in version 2.7.8: it now handles numbers and years, “don’t” and “do not”, repeated sentences and skipped paragraphs. In our tests, the text follows the voice all the way to the end in 92% of read-throughs, up from 71%. Give it another try, and feel free to write to me from the website if anything still goes wrong!

Crashes

App does nothing but crash everyone got to use it because it crashes as soon as you hit the shutter button. I would’ve loved to use it because it’s the only one that lets you use Apple log unfortunately, it isn’t finished. ***update. Response to the developer: Apple log records to the hard drive on the iPhone 18 you do not have to have an external drive. In fact I’m pretty sure that you don’t have to have an external drive anymore for any phone only when recording.pro res raw.

Hi Jeffrey, thank you for the details you sent by email (the screenshots weren't attached). The 60 fps limit I described is real, but it isn't what you hit: you record ProRes at 24 frames per second, which the iPhone does support internally, so 2.4.1 did not fix your crash. I'm sorry about that. Version 2.5 is now on the App Store and changes several things on the path you use, including manual camera settings, which now stay within what the camera accepts, and ProRes recording on iOS 27, which now goes into Pro Video Storage. I couldn't reproduce your crash on my own iPhone, and it doesn't show up in the crash reports I receive from Apple either. If it still happens with 2.5, turning on Share With App Developers (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements) would send me the report, and an email from you would help me find it. I can also send you a TestFlight build to pin down the problem if 2.5 doesn't fix it.
