Could be better
The storyline was good enough to play. There were glitches with the map not always responding when required, the hint button failed to charge and some of the mini games would not always respond to the tap. I managed to play the game in the end. This game was certainly not as good as the other Ms Holmes ones.

Not worth the $7. A lot of the puzzles have bugs. I’m only 5 mins in and already 2 puzzles didn’t work.. Wish I could get a refund.

Puzzles were fine. The story didn’t make sense. Like it was rushed through and left out important pieces.
Great story and graphics
I’m currently playing this 3rd instalment of the Ms Holmes series, I’m thoroughly enjoying the series and loving the literary female detective genre as I do, am thrilled i can play a really wide selection of intelligent, independent and courageous female investigators in my favourite game genres!However, I do have a comment to make about Ms Holmes. Having played through to this 3rd instalment, I wish the stories “fleshed out” Ms Holmes a bit more as a character. I want more of her “origin story”. Why did she become a detective? What did her family think of this as a career choice? It’s somewhat difficult to make out the period in the artwork at times, but even in post-ww2 Britain, i doubt genteelly brought up young ladies were encouraged to consider the seedy, tawdry underworld of crime investigation as a professional career. Was that a source of tension that could be exploited for dramatic effect or plot purposes in subsequent games, perhaps? As l’ve noticed the actor’s accent drop in and out of a “posh” accent (usually where she delivers 2 or 3 sentences and in situations where she has to convey urgency or haste or exert authority), something like Ms Holmes having been educated and raised for some time overseas could be all that’s needed to explain her accent shifts. I don’t mind characters having atrocious accents if they too are playing roles in the game, but i find a bad fake accent can affect my enjoyment even if only momentarily as they can jar. And when you are playing an investigator who has to be alert to all fakery and pretence, it’s doubly jarring. But as I said, only momentarily. And there really does need to be more cultural and ethnic diversity in the characters (and not in a tiresomely tokenistic form, but by doing what Bridgerton has done for Regency romance for example).
Having said all that, the artwork is great, the HOPs are challenging enough but not infuriatingly difficult at the “hardcore” level which is what I always play. And the crimes do keep you guessing through to the denouement. I really hope there are more Ms Holmes games on the horizon!

Shoddy Holmes - where was QA on this?
I was enjoying the game at first, there were some nice features and games that had at least a bit of imagination — but after the unlock feature, it just seemed as if the game got sloppier and sloppier and more and more mundane. Maps didn’t work, locations would bounce, game item inventory was missing, touch was off. And then of course there were the mundane things: the boat with the repair kit, the ladder that needs boards and nails, the key that needs to be made from metal that melts easily.
It felt like this game was rushed out the door, and when you’re asking $7 for a very short game, there really needs to be a level of finish and uniqueness that just wasn’t present in this. I was quite disappointed and probably won’t be in a hurry to buy another elephant game anytime soon.

Glitchy and quick
The story line was pretty lame, and because the app didn’t function well, sometimes the text would jump and there was no way to go back. Plus, when you finish the game there is no way to go back to see achievements or challenges so you never know how you did. Took maybe 3 hours to finish, so not much value for the $$. Hopefully some others might be more challenging, this one wasn’t.

Truthfully I found this game somewhat dull. Most of the HO scenes were word lists, there weren’t enough puzzles, and mostly all of them were rotational, and the storyline was convoluted. At the end of the main game, the map did not function properly. The general gameplay was enjoyable though, and there were a few mini-games that I enjoyed, such as the world map, the formulation of a pain tablet, the color mixture game and the shooting game. At least the game wasn’t overly brief. This is my least favorite series. The strange thing is, as I was playing I kept thinking about how wonderful it would be to receive a new Detectives United. Well, my thoughts manifested themselves and there it appeared on the App Store today! Thank you, Elephant! Someone must be a mind reader (such as Rick Rogers, from Paranormal Files, lol.) Maybe we can get a new Haunted Hotel soon?

Hint not working.
Okay game but if you get stuck and need help you often can’t get any. Feel I wasted my money i time. Very disappointing.
So short!
Elephant games are typically well made. On this one the map stopped working and some puzzles didn’t show what you should look for, so you just had to keep tapping on items. This also may have been the briefest game I’ve played in a long time. The story was jumbled and confusing in both the main game and the bonus chapter.

Far too short
This is one of the shortest games ever from Elephant Games. And, with the cost of everything in life rising, they’d be wise to offer better value for money or we’ll spend our money elsewhere.

I was so looking forward to a new game and was happy to find one this morning. The game overall had a great story line with usual suspect’s to find and problem solving. The only drawback was the main game is the shortest i have ever played, the bonus game also not very long. I usually play over a day or two but this took only an hour and half for both. I love the darker games which you make too as they are more suspenseful.
