How does Africas largest mobile Network Operator make such a horrific app? Why do you get interrupted with a “processing” popup whenever you tap on any menu option? This makes doing anything in the app super tedious!! Why can I not have 2 SIM cards associated with one profile? Frequent disconnections and errors too.

“App only deals” impossible to buy, app broken
MTN advertises “app only deals”, however to pay for the deal with a bank card, the “scroll” function has been disabled on the CCV screen. No scroll, no purchase button, no deal.

Can't RICA
Tried on multiple iOS devices, the app doesn't allow for self-RICA. The photos you take (selfie and of your ID) are all stretched and won't allow you past next step. Customer support was unable to help, so, since I'm abroad (and can't visit a store) my phone number will be lost.

Does this app even work?
I just get a yellow screen with the MTN logo on it when I open the app. Boggles the mind that a company as large as MTN is unable to produce a functioning app.

next time i come to SA i’ll be using Vodacom again. constant spam texts, calls and even system messages are an unbelievable nuisance.
Beware of making credit card payments
Before one could pay your bill by credit card. The process has now changed. Now if you do so MTN stores your credit card details and only in the T&Cs they tell you that you are actually creating a mobile wallet profile MOMO. Cannot pay unless you have a wallet with them.

This app does everything it’s supposed to do, sometimes it’s a bit slow but not really a big deal. If you’re mad cuz you don’t win the free competition every day plz get a grip of yourself

Pathetic
Nobody has ever tested this app. Crashes on trying to RICA a sim every time. Photos are squashed. Can’t do anything at all. Truly appalling.
Spend Limit does not work
When trying to change the Spend Limit on MTN APP it just stuck on the same screen and says processing.

App Crashes and doesn’t connect
The functionality of the MTN App is poor. Currently it doesn’t connect and says “check internet connection”. I have an excellent 100/98 connection over fibre! If you have two numbers on your account the primary number can’t check balances on the secondary number without the secondary number having to give the primary their OTP - so you both have to be in the same vicinity which is useless. With all their resources MTN could be doing a LOT better!

Log in required all the time
My sim is in my laptop. I have the MTN app installed on my phone. Since the app update, every time you open the app, you have to enter the mobile number and then you receive an sms. I can’t receive sms’s on my laptop so I have to put the sim card into a phone. If you close the app and open it again 2s later, I have to repeat the process. The log in procedure was not thought through correctly and is outright pathetic. They have messed this app up!
