This app makes no cents....

Fun for adults too!

It's geared towards kids but adults will find it quite entertaining too. Challenge your friends and test their basics math skills. I received a humble lesson playing in multiplayer mode.

Mr

This one looks like the most engineered of the couple of other multiplication apps I tested here. The have the battle mode for playing on the Internet, and character store (like a small version of sims). Took us a while to figure out how to start the online play- you need to press on one of the four rotating planets while it is not in motion. Also, to figure out what the powers you can use in battle do, you might need to play with someone in the same room first.

My kids are having fun learning!!!

I dowloaded the application to help my kids with their multiplication. I took it out during Church since they could not sit still. They loved it. They were actually fighting over whos turn it was to do math!! They are learning their math tables by the tutoring and the testing. They have a desire to succeed and get as many right as possible. The graphics are great and keep them interested in the screen and the math.

I purchased the new update and my kids
Love the battle mode and all of the superpowers. They really get into playing against each other and other kids. Their competitive sports continue to increase their learning of multiplication!

Totally fun

This app is amazing. Normally multiplication is pretty boring, but this app allowed me to test my multiplication skills against my friends online. The powers you get make it even more competitive, and its fun to dress up my character to show off to my friends. It's easy to say I am the multiplication master of my group.

Very good multiplayer mode

The new version is a big improvement, especially with the support for Game Center, and customization of online characters. Seems like they tried to spice up the learning experience by adding a game mode with a player that can be selected from Game Center.

They have different levels (or planets), and different powers that can be used during play, the green planet is the easiest, but the black one is really tough, one has really know multiplication well to succeed here.
The superpowers took some time to figure out. Looks like the easiest way to see what they do is to try them locally, in the Test Me screen ( by pressing one of the icons in the middle row).
You can make the opponent's keyboard, shrink, rotate, or set it on fire and float it around the screen.

It seems that in this version they have also fixed the issue with selecting which problems are displayed in the local practice - now from the Settings.Largest Factor screen it is possible to select if the problems should stop at the largest factor selected, or go beyond it. I see that if I select eg. 7 as the largest factor, it used to be that the problems would end at 7, like 3x7, 5x7, but now, if one turns off the option 'this is the largest factor', the problems go also beyond 7, all the way through 12, like 7x9, 7x11.

Very limited factors

If you set the largest factor to 4, you only get 4 questions (1,2,3,4). This is not what parents need, we the complete set of 4s 4 x (1-12). Could be a great app is this simple error was fixed and I would quickly change to a five star. But under the current setup this is a worthless app. Should have checked the last update date, clearly no one in monitoring this app for improvements.

Not Impressed

I do not at all agree with the many 5 star reviews for this app. It is just a basic drill app with a few visuals. The questions are random, repetitive, and seem to go on forever with no indication of whether the user has completed the current task. And the "in depth statistics" are nothing more than a list of questions that were missed. The developer did a good job making the app sound like more than what it really is. Try the "Math Drills" app if you want real statistics and focused learning. I should say though that it does function OK and is probably better than plain old flash cards. Two stars.

Agh

Repeats way to much

Multiplication, v2.1, Seller: Jerry Plaszowiecki (4+)

Very easy to use, clean crisp graphics and uncluttered pathways through the program. Mastering the material in this little program will set your child up for a lifetime of highly functional multiplication skills. The same can be said for the add, subtract and divide programs. Well done!

Multiplication by Sierra

very good program. I purchased it for myself and sent a gift to my child. We had fun battling each other. There could be more options adding to the game, but it goes through numbers 3 - 12 which is a great tool for children to have fun and learn at the same time. Thanks Sierra for creating a good learning tool for the ipod touch.

Flying through tests now!

My 9 year old struggled with her weekly timed math tests until we found this app. She has passed every multiplication test and is now on to division. Needless to say, we've bought that app as well as the addition and subtraction for my younger kids. My favorite things - I can see what problems they struggled with and focus on those. They can focus on a number they're working on (like 9's) and work on those problems only. We've bought many math apps, this has been the only one that I can say "Look at the results!" Even the teachers have asked for the name of these apps!

Needs slight improvement

This is a terrific tool for my 3rd grader. Please update the app to allow him to isolate one number to work on the facts for that number (ie isolate the number 4 and test on all numbers times the number 4).

Wonderful

My 4th grader enjoys this app.

Great

I Highly recommend this over any other times tables app.

Easy!!!!!!

Way to easy!!!!!!!!!!!!

A bit boring

My 9-year-old was bored with this app, and she loves math. She wanted it to be more like a game.

Homeschooling mom of 4

Hate it. Numbers to hard to tap in. Then you gave to press ok THEN you have to press next. Too much. Also needs a timed option. Sorry I spent the $$$$. Just bought another one that is a hundred times better sorry.
