This is the greatest app EVER!!!

If you, like me, absolutely LOVE music boxes, you won’t find a better app than this one! The people that made this app possible also produce actual PHYSICAL music boxes—which aren’t your typical wind-up music box. No, these are MIDI-controlled music boxes that can be paired with the app wirelessly, and can therefore play THOUSANDS of songs on either one, two or four metal combs (depending on which model you get)! I don’t currently own one myself (and this is not a sponsored review either), but it’s been my dream for several months now to own one.

Also, I had docked one star on my previous review of this app because of an issue with the loop and shuffle buttons literally not working at all. But the developers are AWESOME, and they had that bug fixed within a week or so, so here’s your star back, guys! You deserve it! :-)

I found a bug

Hey Muro Box devs! This app is amazing as it is—and I’m highly considering buying a physical Muro Box in the near future, too, as I don’t have one yet—but I have noticed a bug that appears to be in the app itself, as it occurs regardless of which apple device I use it on. The bug has to do with the repeat and shuffle buttons, which simply do not work. Seriously, I can tap on them all I want, and the app will not obey them, no matter what. If I set the repeat button to “single track repeat”, the app totally ignores it and moves on to the next track in the playlist anyways. And it treats EVERY playlist as if “full playlist repeat” was enabled all the time—even if it isn’t. Keep in mind that I don’t have a physical Muro Box yet, so I’m just playing tracks through the app, but it would be nice if the buttons that are supposed to loop and shuffle tracks ACTUALLY DID THAT. I’ve docked a star for that for the time being, but if you guys can fix it, I’ll give the star back. Sorry if I seem a bit rude here, but seriously, if you’re gonna add buttons to an app, MAKE THEM ACTUALLY WORK, OR REMOVE THEM. Thank you.

The Muro Box is amazing

The hardware is pretty incredible, and the app does a good job of making for a seamless integration. I'd love to see a bigger library of music available in-app and an improved search feature. Importing midi files is easy, but keep in mind the limitations of the Muro - transpose to C Major between C4 - A6, keep the tempo reasonably low, and reduce repetition of the same notes being played consecutively.

The Muro itself is beautiful, whimsical, and inspiring. I look forward to further development!

"Sign in with Apple" and "Hide My Email" allow you to login using a random email address provided by Apple. Our app supports those features. We hope this information is helpful.
