About

Capture your song ideas. Keep the music. MuseMemo is the private song-idea recorder built for singer-songwriters. Record a rough take, and MuseMemo turns it into musical information you can actually use: chords, key, tempo, meter, and an editable lead sheet. Hit record and play. When you stop, MuseMemo listens back and works out the details right on your device. No waiting on a server. No cloud analysis. Just your idea, captured before it disappears. WHAT MUSEMEMO FIGURES OUT • Chords — a complete chart laid out in measures, with confidence cues • Key & mode — know what you’re in before you share or transpose • Tempo — detected automatically, or locked precisely when you record with the metronome • Time signature & bars — a real measure grid, not just a waveform Every chord is yours to correct. The analysis is a smart starting point, never the final word. PRACTICE THE TAKE Scrub the waveform, jump to any moment, loop a tricky passage with A–B repeat, and slow playback down to learn a part by ear. As the audio plays, MuseMemo highlights the current chord in time with the recording. TURN IDEAS INTO LEAD SHEETS Shape a rough take into a chart you can rehearse, share, or perform from. Put chords over lyrics, add sections like Verse, Chorus, and Bridge, and nudge everything into alignment by eye. Switch between chord names and Nashville numbers, transpose instantly, set a capo, and export a clean chart when it’s ready. PERFORM FROM YOUR DEVICE Performance mode turns your lead sheet into a full-screen stage view: big readable type, pinned song facts, auto-scroll, and no editing clutter. On larger screens, charts can lay out in two columns. Build setlists and move from song to song during rehearsal or a gig. TOOLS FOR SONGWRITERS • Built-in metronome • On-device tuner • Lead sheet editor • Setlists • Tags and notes • Local archive backup • Optional iCloud sync across iPhone, iPad, and Mac EXPORT TO WHERE YOU WORK • WAV audio • ChordPro • Ultimate Guitar-style text • MIDI chord progressions Already have recordings? Import WAV, AIFF, MP3, M4A, AAC, and FLAC files and run them through the same analysis. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your unreleased songs are yours. MuseMemo analyzes audio on-device and does not use ads, analytics, or tracking SDKs. You can use MuseMemo without creating an account. If you turn on sync, your recordings, charts, setlists, and library data sync through your private iCloud account so your ideas stay available across your Apple devices. From the first hum to the finished chart, MuseMemo keeps up with you. Capture the take. Keep the music.

What's New in MuseMemo

1.0.2

July 22, 2026

ALL-NEW CHORD DETECTION MuseMemo now transcribes the actual notes in your recording using an on-device AI model, then reads your chords from that real note evidence. The difference is immediate: • Cleaner charts — ghost chords caused by ringing open strings (that Dsus4 that was really a D) are gone • Sharper confidence — the app now knows how sure it is, so the chords you see are the chords you played • Better in every key — detection is robust to slightly imperfect tuning As always, everything runs entirely on your device. Your recordings never leave it — no cloud, no accounts, no exceptions. TIME SIGNATURES • MuseMemo now detects the time signature of your take — waltzes finally read as 3/4, with measures on the true bars • The tempo card shows the detected meter next to the BPM (e.g. "143 BPM · 3/4") • Playing something ambiguous? Tap the new time-signature button on the tempo card to set 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, or 6/8 yourself — the measures and chords instantly re-align to your meter, and your choice sticks A CLEARER CHART • Beat marks are now visible inside every measure, even when a single chord fills the bar — you can see the meter at a glance • Tap any chord to hear exactly that passage, as before SMALLER IMPROVEMENTS • Settings now shows the exact app version and build number at a glance • The chord-visibility setting has been recalibrated for the new engine, so fewer correct chords hide below the threshold • Recording with the metronome still pins tempo and meter exactly — ground truth always wins
