Difficult
It is so freaking difficult to choose between sources. I can’t even play from my iPhone to my stereo. This whole thing sucks.
Not user friendly
After using this software for about a year and a half in our pool house in our Landscape speakers, I have to say that it’s very frustrating to try and use this program. It’s very hard to find the volume control or get back to certain parts of the program. Every time I use it I have to try and figure out stuff for about 10 or 15 minutes and it’s very frustrating.. You folks should spend some time having somebody go through this and try to use it. That’s not very familiar with it and see how difficult it is to figure things out.. Then you should revamp it and make it much more user-friendly.

With 7.01 update, super buggy now! Slow to turn AVR on. Other buggy stuff.
Yamaha Music Cast App
Would give 5 stars if I could still control volume on iPhone before the last firmware update. Loved using my iPhone volume buttons , so easy and convenient…
Disappointed
App connection to receiver continually drops. Interface is complicated and not intuitive.
Confusing interface
It’s nice to have an app to use the receiver but the software end of this is definitely not up to standards very confusing to use and not intuitive at all
The ads they are putting on here like are crashing the app ie pandora.
Actually good app but I have noticed that ads kill the continuous play you have to reset the whole thing. Lose the ads. Or fix your issues these links like pandora etc are through your app as well.
Quirky and unreliable
When it works, it's great. When it doesn't, you are in silence. The app and the actual unit have to be plugged in and then unplugged several times. My local sound guy still pushes this, but I have lost faith.

WTF
Impossible setup. Instructions are useless. Cannot get BT to even light up. WiFi lights but no BT

Update
Took away the access to control volume through iPad/iPhone side controls. Would be nice to have this back. Don’t understand why it was removed.
You never know
Very unreliable software. You never know what’s going to happen. Rooms disappear, things disconnect and massive random problems over 5 years. I have to much money in Yamaha to change.
Why remove Tidal Service
Tidal direct connection was removed , why???
Update not the best
Losing the ability to control using the iPhone volume sidebar takes away a wonderfully simple function. Restore that.
