About
Keep your sheet music, annotations and practice routine together.
MusicFocus combines a PDF score library with Apple Pencil annotation, a metronome and local practice records. Read your music on iPad, or track practice without opening a score.
YOUR SCORE LIBRARY
Import your own PDF scores from Files or other apps. Find recently opened music, browse all scores, save favorites and continue from the page you last read. Scroll and zoom with practice controls close at hand.
WRITE ON YOUR MUSIC
Mark fingerings, phrases and reminders with pens and highlighters. Adjust color, width and opacity, erase marks and undo changes. Export an annotated PDF to share or continue working in a compatible PDF app. Editing imported annotations depends on how the original PDF was created; flattened marks remain part of the page.
OPTIONAL FINGERING PEN
Choose the dedicated 1–5 pen to turn handwritten finger numbers and circled numbers into consistent marks. Tap to correct a recognized number or undo the change. Ordinary pens keep your handwriting unchanged.
PRACTICE WITH FEEDBACK
Optional on-device sound detection helps distinguish practice from interruptions. Choose focused instrumental practice, instruments with speech, or singing/accompaniment. Detection depends on surrounding sounds, playing volume and microphone conditions.
Set silence confirmation from 0 to 60 seconds, with 3 seconds as the default. Short silent breaks can stay in the same segment; silent waiting is not added to practice time.
A METRONOME BESIDE YOUR SCORE
Practice at 30–240 BPM with time signatures, accents and supported beat groupings. Choose a mechanical click or electronic tone and adjust the volume.
YOUR PRACTICE HISTORY
Review sessions, weekly and monthly totals, practice notes and badges. Score and page statistics show where you spent time reading, practicing and using the metronome. Page statistics reflect the displayed page, not automatic score following.
SINGLE-NOTE PITCH DISPLAY
View note names, numbered notation or staff notation, cents deviation and a pitch trace. Adjust the clef and reference A4. This optional aid is for single notes, not chords, score following or performance grading.
LOCAL BY DESIGN
No account is required. Scores, annotations and practice records stay on your device unless you choose to export them. Sound analysis runs on-device; microphone audio is not uploaded. The interface supports English and Simplified Chinese.
Bring your own scores. Apple Pencil features require a compatible iPad and Apple Pencil.
