About

Musicola plays the music on your own Navidrome server, on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. It takes you from a song to its artist, and from an album to music like it. Made for listening, not managing • Home that knows you: recently played, recently added, your artists, most played, and mixes made from what you actually listen to. • Radio that never ends: start radio from any song, album or artist. Autoplay keeps the music going with songs like the last ones you heard. • Lyrics that follow along: synced lyrics light up line by line. Tap a line to jump there. • Crossfade: each song fades into the next, from 2 to 12 seconds, while an album played in order runs on without a gap. • Musicola DJ: an endless station from your library with Emma, a radio host who talks over the start of songs about what you're hearing, made on your device (Musicola Plus Tier 3). • Artists in full: biographies, top songs and similar artists when your server has them, and every album, newest first. • New from your artists: recent releases by the artists you play, and artists like them you don't have yet, as 30-second previews from Apple Music (iPhone, iPad and Mac). Made for iPad Bigger artwork, Now Playing with the cover beside the controls in landscape, and lyrics alongside. Apple TV, properly Big artwork, the Siri Remote, and what's playing on the Top Shelf. On your Mac too The same app on Macs with Apple silicon, in a window you can size as you like. Everywhere on iPhone Widgets, CarPlay, Siri and Shortcuts, AirPlay and the Lock Screen. No server yet? Choose Look around first. Musicola fills itself with Apple Music's charts as 30-second previews, with no subscription or permission needed, plus an album that comes with the app. Connect your server whenever you're ready. Free, with Musicola Plus if you want more Musicola is free to download and use. Musicola Plus is a choice of one-off purchases, never a subscription, and works with Family Sharing: • Tier 1: download albums, playlists and mixes to your iPhone, iPad or Mac and play them with no connection. • Tier 2: everything in Tier 1, plus the Mix Builder: mixes made from your listening, genres, decades and artists. • Tier 3: everything in Tier 2, plus Musicola DJ, pick up on another device where you left off, lossless streaming and downloads, and Listening Stats: your top artists, albums and songs by week, month or year. Musicola DJ needs iOS, iPadOS or tvOS 26 and isn't on Apple TV HD. Tier 3 is everything. Already own a tier? You're offered the upgrade at a lower price, so you never pay twice. Your music stays yours Musicola doesn't track you, show ads or collect analytics. Your plays, favourites and playlists live on your own server. What you need A Navidrome server you can reach from your device, at home or over HTTPS. What's New in Musicola

1.1

October 26, 2026

• Musicola DJ (Musicola Plus Tier 3): an endless station from your library with Emma, a radio host who talks over the start of songs about what you're hearing, made on your device. Steer her to a genre or ask for more like this, tell her your name, and set a sleep timer for a goodbye. Needs iOS, iPadOS or tvOS 26, and isn't on Apple TV HD. • Mixes learn what you like: songs you skip come round less, and artists you play through come round more, in every mix. • New on Home on iPhone, iPad and Mac: New from your artists and Artists you might like, as 30-second previews from Apple Music. Settings › Apple Music turns them off. • Clear in Playing Next empties what's coming up. • A small library keeps playing once you've heard it all. • Covers keep their square tile whatever shape the image is, and pulling to refresh no longer says "cancelled".
