Can’t use it without paying
I was going to consider paying for the premium once I found out if I liked the app or not because the cost is reasonable and I have a lot of books to keep track of but I can’t even throughly test if I like the app.

Fair criticism. Adding, organizing and searching your library is free and unlimited, including entering books by hand. What is metered is barcode scanning and the AI features. That split is clear once you are inside the app and not at all clear on the way in, which is our problem to fix rather than yours to discover after downloading.

Thank you for telling us, and we are so sorry for the fright. Sixty books is a lot of reading to think you have lost. The good news is that your library is stored on your account rather than only on the device, so it is very likely still there: if you had been using the app without signing in, those books sit under the guest profile rather than under the account you signed into. Thank you for trying the quiz and for describing exactly how it failed, which is far more useful to us than a star rating on its own. You are right that a quiz which does not list the main character among its options is worse than no quiz at all, and we are sorry it wasted your time. Since you wrote this the app has been rebuilt from the ground up, cover fetching included, so please do try those titles again. Horrible app
It also kept trying to get me to upgrade to the subscription service. This popped up about every 30 seconds. I couldn’t even finish trying to figure out the app, because it constantly popped up. So a monthly ridiculous fee to use a store purchase site. I can just buy direct via Amazon at that point, as that is what they used to populate the data anyway.
What a massive and useless scam.

A subscription warning you it expires on the day you bought it is alarming and clearly wrong, and you were not doing anything wrong with the shelves either.
