WriType turns your handwriting into a real font you can install, use, and share.
Two ways to write:
· On screen: write character by character with Apple Pencil or your finger on iPhone or iPad. When you pause, WriType saves the character and moves to the next one automatically.
· On paper: download an A4 landscape template PDF, print it, write in the grids, then import photos or a scanned PDF in one batch.
11 packages, from 123 symbols to 6,763 characters:
· 123 symbol template, 775, 2,500 and 3,500 characters (the last three include symbols): free.
· 2,500 → 3,500 supplement: free.
· 6,763 characters (all of GB2312) plus the supplements toward 6,763 and the Complete set: one-time purchase.
· Supplement packs require their prerequisite package; when building, your own characters are merged with completed prerequisites and sibling volumes for the same target.
Paid packages are one-time purchases, not subscriptions, and purchases can be restored in Settings. Payment is handled by Apple.
Everything is processed on your device: page detection, perspective correction, cell splitting, binarization, cleanup and vectorization. Review each glyph, then package a .ttf you can share, install, and preview on letter paper or notes.
iCloud:
· When iCloud is available, projects and generated fonts are saved automatically in iCloud Drive, so you can continue on another device.
· When iCloud is unavailable, everything stays on this device.
· The developer cannot read your handwriting or fonts. Only if you turn on optional diagnostics will the app send technical logs that contain none of that content.
Privacy:
No registration, no sign-in, and no personal data collection by default. Handwriting photos are chosen through the system photo picker; the app itself requests no camera or photo-library permission. Diagnostics are off by default and contain only version, action codes, counts, and error codes — never handwriting, project names, character text, or file paths. You can enable, disable, or clear them anytime in Settings.
