What's New in My Little Friend

1.1

June 24, 2026

**What’s New in 1.1** Your little friend has discovered two powerful technologies: remembering things, and being adorable from outside the app. Version 1.1 makes the home screen feel more alive, with new pet moments, smarter “Do This Next” guidance, quick toy replay, and return recaps that help your tiny companion feel less like a menu and more like a very small roommate with feelings. Also new: Pocket Visits. Send a quick pat, snack, or wave from widgets and shortcuts, then come back to find your friend actually noticed. Extremely advanced science. Possibly magic. We also polished widget layouts, tightened small-screen presentation, improved return flow, and fixed a bunch of little rough edges so your pet can focus on the important work: being cute, remembering you, and gently demanding attention.

I Love Cupcake

I am taking care of two pets at the moment, but my rabbit named cupcake is my favorite. I had a bunny when I was little. Thank you so much for making this app accessible for visually impaired people.

Thank you for responding

Thank you for my thank you for responding to my review William. It feels me with great passion that you have responded and with the virtual pet taking days and days to grow up I highly suggest you do that because I have been spending a lot more time with this game and I feel like this game is a bit more game like instead of code instead of cozy companion like for me what makes a cozy companion virtual pet game for me is everything runs in real time so that means I think the stats should decrease a lot slower like not so slow that it like the pet barely needs something but steady enough to wear throughout the day, your pet will need certain things and the app can send you gentle notifications either at specific points in the day or when the stat reaches a certain percentage, so yeah, but I do think for realism stats should increase at different rates for different life stages like for example babies need more frequent care while elders are different so yeah it would just be better and another thing is the day and night cycle. I have suggestions for that so one suggestion I have is your pet sleep schedule is tied to the sun so when the sun goes down, your pet goes to sleep and when it rises, it wakes up and I can either go to sleep automatically or you put it to sleep and I just think that would be good or another thing is it could go to sleep and wake up on a specific sleep schedule and to make it more realistic the schedule should change as your pet ages so like babies go to sleep earlier and maybe even take naps during the day and adults have steady sleep schedules, kinda like how people how their sleep changes and for the growth taking multiple days see when I think that the pet has four life stages, baby kid, adult and elder my consensus. My opinion is that since it has elder, I think it should die of old age but yes, I do agree that people don’t like pets dying, even virtual pets dying so I think to make it more fair. You should have two modes one mode that’s a bit more realistic and things are a brick or are a bit more brutal like more consequences like sickness and death for the people who do want realism like me and another mode for the people who want more game like experience and I think here are some amount of days that I think the pet should take to grow so I think the pet should take 90 days to grow up from like to go through all of its life stages, but I think that the pets full lifespan should be 130 days and each real world day is a year for the pet so the way I think it’s lifecycle should work is 0 to 2 days old baby 3 to 5 days old young child 6 to 12 days old middle child 1318 days old teenager 19 to 29 days old young adult 30 to 64 days old adult and then 65 days to 130 days elder then at the end of that 130 day a peaceful death happens and when your pet dies, your pet gets a life summary of its life like its favorite things and places so yeah this would be a piece would be cool things to make it more realistic

Thank you so much for the incredibly detailed review and for spending time with My Little Friend! First, we’re honored by your kind words. Hearing someone call this their favorite virtual pet game means a lot, especially from someone who has explored so many virtual pet experiences and cares deeply about accessibility. You brought up several thoughtful suggestions and bug reports, and we’ve added them to our feedback list for review. The ideas around choosing your starting pet, deeper sleep mechanics, age-based behavior differences, real-world weather and day/night cycles, and stronger connections between household pets are all interesting directions that fit well with the cozy companion experience we’re trying to create. Thank you as well for reporting the onboarding and audio issues. The scrolling problem during onboarding and the music behavior on first launch definitely sound like bugs, and we’ll be investigating those. The missing ambient weather and environmental sounds are also something we’ll take a closer look at. Regarding the XP system, we completely understand your perspective. Different players enjoy virtual pets in different ways, and it’s valuable for us to hear feedback from players who prefer a slower-paced companion experience where the focus is less on progression and more on bonding. One of our goals is to keep improving My Little Friend over time, and reviews like yours help shape that process. Thank you again for your support, your suggestions, and for being part of the journey. We hope you’ll continue sharing feedback as the game grows!

Fantastic little game!

This developer puts so much thoughtful work into making the game very accessible! this game is reminiscent of 90s virtual pets, but the nice thing is that VoiceOver users can actually interact with multiple pets!

Response from developer

Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear you’re enjoying My Little Friend. One of our biggest goals from the very beginning was to create a virtual pet experience that everyone could enjoy, including VoiceOver users. As a blind developer myself, I know how frustrating it can be to find games that only offer partial accessibility, so making sure players could fully interact with and care for multiple pets was incredibly important to us. It’s especially meaningful to hear comparisons to the virtual pets many of us grew up with in the 90s. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for supporting My Little Friend. We have plenty more updates and features planned, and we’re excited to continue growing the game with our community!

Best virtual pet game but not quite what I expected

This virtual pet game is literally the ultimate virtual pet game. I have tried. I have been playing virtual pet games on the App Store since 2023 and I ran into the accessibility problem very very quickly because I’m like a specific type of virtual pet game the specific type of virtual pet game I like is a game where the pet literally feels like there’s a living thing or a living companion in my pocket you see I’m not a big fan of XP and streaks and that’s exactly what this app has and I would say the biggest Takeaway from it or the biggest like drawback is the XP system. I think it takes away from the cozy vibe. You see a cozy virtual pet to me feels like the pet taking multiple days so like for example, in this game, the pet taking multiple days to grow from baby child adult, and elder so taking multiple days to go through all those life stages. I also really wish I could choose my pet when I first launched the game instead of getting a random pet. I want to be able to choose it. I mean, I know there’s a lot of animals, but like I just wish I could choose my pet when I get it because that just makes the bond stronger for me when I choose my pet instead of getting a random animals signed I would rather choose it and another thing about the first launch thing. I think there’s a couple of bugs with it so when I first launched the app, I don’t hear any music playing, and I can’t scroll through the on boarding screen all that text that’s on there. I can’t scroll through it. It keeps taking me back towards the top of the screen. I can’t swipe through and read all of it. It’s like it keeps bumping me back to the top and for me I want to be able to read all the screen since this game has some empowering words that just took the bond for me pretty well from the beginning if I could properly use the on boarding screen also, the thing with the music is what I have to do is to make the music work properly what I have to do is I have to lock my phone and then unlock it with the app open so like I open the app for the first time then I lock my phone then I unlock it and then the music starts playing that’s what I have to do to make it work properly and it’s I just don’t know if that’s a bug or what another bug that I think is there is even though I have the volume at 100% when I’m in like the town or even in my house in the game I don’t hear any of the weather sounds or any of the ambient sounds like the birds or the wind or the thunder or the rain or any of that stuff and I also think to make the weather system more realistic. I think what you should do is instead of making the game have its own whether system I think you should make it rely on your real world weather like the game should be accessing your location to see your real world weather and I think that the weather should be controlled that way and I also think that nighttime in the game and daytime in the game should be controlled by the real sunrise and sunset times in your location so when the sunrises it’s daytime and the daytime ambience comes on and when it’s sets, it’s nighttime and the nighttime ambience comes on. I also think that another thing should be is at night time. I think what should happen is your pet should automatically go to sleep or you should be able to put it to sleep for the whole night and I think what should happen is stats should stop decaying overnight. The only stat that I think should restore. As your pet sleeps and that’s the same thing for daytime naps I think that like depending on your pets age and stage level yes I like the feeling of how I mean I know you guys are trying to make the stats decrease at different rates at different stages, but but I’m not really noticing a difference. I think that like baby pets should need more naps than adult pets or the same thing like that like I think that by the time a pet reaches the kid stage or a child stage it should be able to stay awake all night or not stay awake all night, but like sleep all night because I just think that would be cooler. Another thing is I’m not sure if the pets already do this anyways cause I was following some of the posts you guys posted on Facebook months ago on the group when this game was first and development and I know one of them said something about the pets interacting with each other but I like once I hatched new pets from the hatchery it says my household is full, but I can’t see my other pets and I can’t tell which ones I hatched and I also think that when you’re hatching a new pet from the hatchery, I think that I think those suggested names list from when you first hatch your first pet should come up that way I can have multiple pets each one named a different named from that list so yeah those are some things and some bugs that I think some suggestions to make the game or live and some bugs

Very cozy

This game is incredibly cozy. There's not another way to say it. The creatures are cute, the descriptions are great, and the atmosphere is calm. There are a lot of little decisions that help with this. There is no pet death due to neglect. You just come back when you have the time and the game picks up where you've left off. I'm tired and can't think of anything else to say besides this. The game is one of the most feature rich virtual pet games out therevery. I especially like that it's accessible to many users with different needs, such as visually impaired users.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review! Reading comments like this makes our day. One of our biggest goals with My Little Friend was to create a cozy, low-pressure experience that feels welcoming whether you have five minutes to play or haven’t checked in for a few days. We wanted your companion to feel like a friend waiting for you, not a responsibility that punishes you for having a busy life. We’re also incredibly happy to hear that you enjoyed the creatures, descriptions, atmosphere, and the variety of features available throughout the game. Those little details are things we spend a lot of time thinking about, so it’s rewarding to know they’re helping create the experience we hoped for. Your comments about accessibility mean a great deal to us as well. Building games that can be enjoyed by as many people as possible, including blind and visually impaired players, has been a core part of the vision for My Little Friend from the beginning. Thank you again for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review and for supporting the game. We hope you and your little companion continue to enjoy many cozy adventures together!
