FAQ

What does My Own Cookbook do?

This app functions as a digital cookbook where you can store, organize, and manage your personal recipes. It allows you to import recipes from various sources, including websites, photos of handwritten recipes, and manual entry. You can also create menus, generate shopping lists, and share your recipes with others.

How can I add recipes to the app?

You can add recipes by taking screenshots from websites and using them as recipe images, or by copying and pasting ingredients, instructions, and pictures directly from the web. You can also take photos of handwritten recipes from paper and save them. Manual entry is also supported.

Is there a cost to use My Own Cookbook?

The app offers a free version that allows you to save up to three of your own recipes. To remove this limitation and unlock unlimited recipe storage, you can upgrade to the 'Consumer Edition' through an in-app purchase. The Consumer Edition also enables sharing recipes via Dropbox.

Can I use this app offline?

Yes, the app is designed to work offline conveniently. Your saved recipes are stored directly within the app, meaning you can access and use them without an internet connection. No registrations or sign-ins are required to use the core offline functionality.

What are the main benefits of upgrading to the Consumer Edition?

Upgrading to the Consumer Edition removes the limitation of saving only three own recipes, allowing you to store an unlimited number of your personal recipes. Additionally, the Consumer Edition enables the feature to share your recipes via Dropbox, in addition to email.
