Sarasota County should be eternally embarrassed for sending such a catastrophically bad app out to parents. I’m amazed.
Date of birth bothersome
There isn’t a way to type the dob in, I had to click back on each month of every year to get to 2010. Very annoying.
Birthday instructions
Birthday entry has no instructions. Format for Eugene 4j district is MM/DD/YYYY. If your kid was born on February 9th 2014 it would be 02/09/2014. Instructions for format should be given.

Ride K-12 app review
The app works okay. The location seems to lag compared to Life 360 which is very accurate. This at least gives us an idea of where the bus is for our younger kids without phones
Bus route
I wish they changed the address on my account so he doesn’t accidentally get dropped off there
Optional
Frequently goes blank saying there are no busses on the road and shows my kid as being dropped off at some point in the future. I can’t get used to this.
Bus not showing up
For months 2/3 of my children’s busses aren’t showing on the map. And now none of the 3 are showing the actual route lines. Updates do nothing. Restarting does nothing. Worthless.
Unreliable
The information is inconsistent and often unavailable. All past scans and information are now gone with this new update. Bus location is completely incorrect half the time. Never have had a good experience with Tylertech, nor have I heard anything that was good from a source utilizing their products in the workplace. My personal experience has only solidified that they only consistent thing delivered is inferior software and to anticipate a mediocre performance and execution. Really not a wonderful experience when my children are involved. I have a low expectation that anything will be better as they have a from monopolistic grip over markets like this that they dominate giving them zero incentive to be innovative or fix underlying system flaws.

Do not like it
I do not have the option to see where the bus is or any map to see the bus. The only thing I can see is arrival time and is not even accurate to the actual time the bus picks up my son. Waste of space in my phone.

Love this app
It’s so helpful to know where the bus is. When it’s super hot or cold they don’t have to wait around for the bus. We just release them when the bus is close.

I am updating my prior review, and increasing the stars from 2 to 4. I find this app to be a very helpful tool.
This app is no substitute for being prepared for the bus around its usual time. Don’t look at time estimates in the app. The app needs to be used as additional resource in preparing for bus arrival. It’s not to be used as sole determination of where the bus is.
There will be days it shows incorrect info due to any number of factors. But, more often than not, it has been excellent for gauging the time needed to get out the door.

Using the app has created more STRESS in the morning routine.
Time estimates adjust dramatically making them useless. (It says 10 minutes late then suddenly it’s supposed to arrive at this exact minute. Then it switches to 10 min late again) The map updates in a choppy way. Son has missed the bus 3 times, thinking the route map was accurate or that the bus was where it shows. If district drivers change routine, they should update the route!
We are better off doing the old fashioned thing of waiting outside for 10 minutes to eliminate this headache.

Awesome when it works
Was amazing but inconsistent. Works for a while and then stops working. Repeat and repeat and repeat.
Not good
They won’t even let me find my school and when I finally find the district which DOES HAVE SCHOOLS IN IT it says not found and there is so much lag and delay between every action

Inconsistent
The app is a great tool but needs much improvement. The bus is no longer displayed on the app. The bus arriving soon notification delivery is hit or miss. The notifications work but the bus could be me minutes away or seconds.

It doesn’t fully show where the bus is and it is late my mainly 5 mins and you won’t be able to guess I missed the bus many times standing out 10 minutes earlier
