Can’t see scores properly
A strange update, which now means that I need to look at the same data, but just in a much smaller font, and takes more effort to see the only thing I need to see - my scores.
What exactly is the point of launching an app that is worse at the one thing people use the app for.
Please ask your USERS what they want out of the app. No one cares about news, or adverts. They want to see their scores, and you have just taken a significant backwards step - truly baffling.

Version 3.0.0 update
I’m very impressed with how bad the recent changes to the Scottish Golf app are. The previous layout made it very easy to identify your 8 counting scores at a glance, with the fully green-highlighted scores providing a clear and intuitive visual system.
The new flag-based layout feels like a significant step backwards in usability. What was once quick and straightforward to understand is now unnecessarily cluttered and harder to follow. For an app feature that many golfers regularly rely on to track their handicap, clarity and simplicity should be the priority.
I would strongly encourage the development team to consider either:
* reverting to the previous design, or
* adding an option for users to switch between the old and new display styles.
The previous version was far more user-friendly and effective.
If I could rate 0 stars I would.

News is of no interest
I’ll reserve judgment on the basic functions until I’ve used it a few times after this most recent update. The old version was shockingly bad so hopefully this will be better.
Others have commented it is difficult to see your 8 counting scores - I disagree (the green flags next to the counting scores is quite obvious).
However I agree with others that the “news” section should be somewhere else away from the main homepage. At least let the user reorder the sections (so we can stick it down the bottom out of the way).

Could be so much better
Given that this is the main Scottish Golf app you would think that the powers that be would develop something that is intuitive, easy to navigate, with good UI and UX. This is app has none of that. Very disappointing.
Useless
I can login to my account on the website without a problem but if I try to use the app it says the membership number and / or password are not recognised. If I use “forgot password” the link takes me to the English golf website(!), which not surprisingly doesn’t recognise my CDH number, so a complete doom loop!

Adding Friends
Helpful to add scorecards and great that it can access all GB&I courses if a little clunky. Would be a big improvement if also allowed friends to be added on England Golf and pick friends directly when setting up a new score card.
Too many ADVERTS
Very annoying with totally unnecessary ADVERTS unrelated to golf.
Lack of efficiency
It works good for maintaining handicap but almost seems pointless linking users to friends list when scorecard doesn’t even use the list to simplify locating regular others to join on card or just be a marker. It still needs them to be searched for as it was done to add them onto the friends list. It would greatly benefit from being linked to Apple Watch as it’s annoying getting a phone out constantly when just like a golf watch you could interact with a started score care so to keep your score up to date but with a phone remaining in your golf bag.

It’s hit or miss that the App opens to the main functionality or if it requires logging in yet again!!!

Can’t delete scorecard
Unable to start a new score after deleting one that was unfinished or started by mistake
Terrible and useless
Downloaded the app and managed to create an account for OpenPlay and submitted my first score. Now when I try to submit scores there is literally no option to do so. A massive waste of time and money.
Not very good
The app is useless for booking Tee times. It is very unstable, it takes numerous attempts to log a score.

Big con - User friendliness is terrible, losses its place all the time during a round.
Pro - Use it for being able keep a handicap, do like how it has the trend.

Ratings from VMS using Clubs
Golf Clubs that use Scottish Golf Free to use Club management SW get full functionality from the App. At my golf club, over 95% of members now use the App to consume all Club Services. The App is fully integrated. Well done SGU.
Now with adverts
Recent update to this app now has adverts appearing on it. It’s meant to be a free app to support golf handicaps in Scotland, shouldn’t have adverts.
Doesn’t work
Says network error every time I press a button. No markers for some courses a can’t submit a card
Option request
A useful app but I would like to see an option to display a list of all tee times for a selected date showing players names (rather than little grey or green squares as now). Yes it’s possible to see the names by tapping on the individual time slot but that adds your name whether you intend playing or not, which you then have to delete. Display size shouldn’t be a problem, I had BRS Golf on my smart phone which showed players names OK.

Getting better
Scoring easier than other apps, comp entry improvements making it easier to enter and pay. Needs matchplay scoring ASAP!
Poor golf app
As this app has developed it seems to get worse . I use a free golf app on the course then enter my score into this app in the club house later as this app is so problematic.
