My True Bible Companion

Talk with the King James Bible. My True Bible Companion is a voice companion named Jeremiah. You can speak to him the way you would speak to a patient friend who knows the Scriptures — ask a question, bring a worry, sit with a passage you do not understand — and he answers from the King James Version. SCRIPTURE THAT DOES NOT CHANGE FOR YOU Jeremiah is grounded in a verified King James text: 66 books, 1,189 chapters, 31,102 verses. Before he quotes a verse he finds it in that text and reads it to you word for word, with the book, chapter and verse spoken aloud. He does not recite from memory. He does not paraphrase a verse and present it as a quotation. He does not combine parts of different verses. And when he cannot find a passage, he tells you so instead of guessing — because getting Scripture wrong does more harm than admitting he did not find it. YOUR LANGUAGE, HIS WORD Jeremiah converses in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Italian, Dutch, Hindi, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Arabic. He will greet you, listen to you, explain a passage and comfort you in the language you came to him in. Scripture itself is the one exception, and it is deliberate. Verses are always read to you in the original King James English and are never translated. The King James Bible is an English text — translating a verse would mean handing you something other than the King James, and that is the one thing this app will not do. So the pattern is simple: he names the reference in your language, reads the verse in King James English, and then explains what it means in your language. The explanation is his own plain speech, offered as explanation and never as Scripture. The two are never blurred together. This is how someone in Manila, Lagos, São Paulo or Seoul can reach the King James text without the text being altered to reach them. WHAT YOU CAN ASK HIM Ask what a passage means. Ask what the Bible says about fear, or forgiveness, or debt, or a marriage that is struggling. Ask for a verse for someone who is grieving. Ask him to sit with you when you cannot sleep. Ask him to read you a psalm. He begins with the person, not the passage. When someone is hurting he starts with understanding, not correction. WHAT HE IS NOT Jeremiah is an automated companion. He is not a person, not a pastor, and not a substitute for your church, your minister, or professional help when you need it. He does not pray, and he does not claim to hear from God personally. He will read a psalm or the Lord's Prayer aloud if you ask, and he will point you to a pastor when you want to pray with a person. He offers Scripture and plain explanation, and he says plainly when he does not know. YOUR PRIVACY Calls are not recorded.
