This app is useless they don’t vet most of there leads which means no one actually wants work
They don’t check any of the leads they advertise I used this for 3 months and the bill I racked up was over 400 pound and not one lead actually turned into a job most the people I went to speak to about quotes didn’t actually have the money to go ahead with the work after speaking to customer service on the app to say and explain what was happening they still went ahead and charged me threatining me with debt collection this is the worst app out there and there is much better apps out there

CLIENTS NEED RATINGS!
Been on this app for half a year and it’s just getting worse. Potential clients should have their own reviews because there is so many time wasters. Had 1 guy who wanted 2x chest of drawers assembled - said i was interested and he shared his details for £10+VAT - he wanted them both built for £40, I said that’s way too low (bloody insulting tbh) and I gave him a more realistic price - he didn’t even respond, closed the job and now im stuck with the bill - @ssholes like him need to have warnings so people can avoid them.
Customer service is pointless too. Never have they issued a refund. I think you might have to be stabbed by a potential client for them to even consider it.
Join Airtasker, much better. Im telling all my trade mates to not bother with MyBuilder.

It’s just a system that scams people 183£ were deducted from my account in one day most of the job postings are fake without any subscription there is no answer from anyone when you try to close or pause the account they don’t help ridiculous excuses.

It charges multiple workers for a job and also charges VAT on top of their scams as well for a job that you won’t get it at all.
I applied for a job of sorting a new cupboard for £9.0 and saw that after couple minutes 4 more workers have shown up and interested on same job and the customer didn’t get back to any message. They also charged me £1.8 on top of that £9.0 for their VAT.
Just think about that 5 poor workers have been charged £10.8 each for a job which you can’t ask for more than £50.0 at most . And at the end that customer didn’t show up at all.

Bad experience
I not recommend this app anymore for anyone. I tried to close my account but they don’t leave close my account and the subscription as well. They don’t have any way to close the subscription so still paying every month till 2028 without I’m using the app

ITS A SCAM, TRADESMEN STAY AWAY
This platform is an absolute scam stay away if you are a Tradesman. Some leads cost 40 pound, you will receive the contact details, send a quote then get told by customer that the job has already been done?? So I just paid 40 pound to be told the job has been done by someone else, to make it worse it says contact details have been shared 5 times, so 5 other tradesmen have been charged same amount to get told the job has been done, therefore the company profiting £200 for nothing. I sent a complaint form asking for a refund for them to reply and say they cannot refund me this. This company should be reported to trading standards as a scam.

Been on my builder for years, used to be great when you could see who was also quoting on jobs, it’s now gone all covert and sneaky and I don’t even think some jobs are genuine, also very expensive now per job.

Too many customers are unaware that shortlisting a tradesperson is charged by MyBuilder every time they shortlist someone new.
On many of occasions, the customers don’t reply and you get changed anyway. There’s nothing in place to make customers more aware to stop doing this, as far as I’m aware. If it was only a rare occurrence, I wouldn’t be too bothered. But as a tradesperson. I’d stay well clear on this site. Not worth it! 👎

WARNING TO TRADESPEOPLE
Avoid this app. The charging mechanism is extremely misleading and you will not fully understand how it works just by reading the terms and conditions. Customers can trigger charges on your account without properly understanding the financial consequence for you, even after seeing your quote, and then simply never reply. Only after using the platform and losing money do you realise how the system actually works. Looking at the many similar reviews, this is clearly not an isolated experience. It feels like a cleverly disguised trap. Stay away.

The platform charges contractors for leads, but in my case the customer never responded after I paid for the opportunity. It feels like contractors are paying significant fees without any guarantee that the job is genuine or that the customer is actually interested.
This business model puts all the financial risk on tradespeople. You pay the commission upfront, and if the customer disappears, you simply lose your money. In my experience, there appears to be very little verification of whether leads are genuine or whether customers are serious about hiring.
I cannot recommend this platform to other tradespeople. There are better alternatives that don’t charge contractors for leads that never turn into real jobs.

I canceled them a long time ago. Before cancelation all payments were made by direct debit. A few months ago they sending me a bill for 12£ for nothing. i just ignored that but now I’m receiving messages from debt collectors!!!!

The rates they charge are very high; sometimes a client shares their contact details, and the company charges a fee even if the client doesn't go ahead with the service. I think it should be a fixed monthly fee or they should only charge if the company actually lands the job. Also, I believe there are a lot of fake profiles.

This is a scam! AVOID this App!
I am absolutely appalled by MyBuilder's predatory and borderline fraudulent billing practices. I used this platform and only secured 3 actual jobs, earning £100 per job for a total of £300. Out of nowhere, they hit me with an astronomical bill of £800-£900 in fees!Their "shortlist fee" system is a complete trap designed to bleed tradespeople dry. They charge you massive fees just because a customer clicks a button to open a chat, even if the lead is fake, cancelled, or goes absolutely nowhere.I have already contacted them to dispute this ridiculous amount, but instead of resolving the issue, they passed my details to a debt collection agency (EP Financial Solutions). This is extortion. They completely exploit hard-working tradespeople with hidden, unfair costs. Avoid this platform at all costs!
