Very janky
Login and forgotten password process is very difficult to get through on mobile.
Hmmm
Not sure I particularly like the updated app, I agree with another comment about the green flag, not very good.
Also, currently the 9 hole course at Broome Manor in Swindon does not work. I did email EG but a week later and still no response, all in all pretty rubbish.
They have also changed how you enter the scorer. You used to be able to just type their name, first last, now you need their EG number, although I did work out you can type last, first name and that works. Why they can’t just list your friends names when you choose to look in friends as the scorer.
All in all an ok app.

Very expensive and barely works
Really bad app. Hugely effective at signing up members and collecting payment, but not much else. I have never been able to get this app to find my playing partner and get them to attest my score. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the app to see if there was some issue that was stopping it from finding anything it its database. Upon reinstalling and logging back in, I found I could only proceed if I pay them £47. I’m new to golf and I’ve now begun to realise how few people playing golf actually bother to maintain a handicap. If I join a club in the future then maybe I’ll think about it, but this has been a waste of my time and money.

Make digital match card
On a paper card, one player marks the scores and both players sign - one card, two signatures, done. The app should mirror that. If I open the app and have two membership numbers logged as playing the same course, that one session should let both players attest each other’s scores from the one phone.
Instead, each player has to create and submit a separate electronic scorecard from scratch - duplicating the entire setup before anyone can attest. That makes the digital process slower and clumsier than the paper version it replaced.
Same WHS requirement - less friction, digital should be slicker than paper not worse.

Revamped version
This new “improved” version has a couple of nice new features but is badly let down by some basic UI issues and breakages in functionality that it should never have been released with.
Good
- Ability to select the handicap allowance - 95%, 90% etc. on the calculator page
- Groups. Can add friends(or golfers now) to a group and then see the course or adjusted handicaps for an entire group on the calculator page. Great for society days as you can see everyone’s playing handicap for the day without going to every single person’s page.
Bad
- Home page. Banner is way too big, around 40% of the screen area on an IPad. Then "golfers" scores are shown before my recent ones. As others have said, the main point of this app is to see my scores. If I want to see everybody else's scores, I would go to a dedicated page like before.
- Scores page. Font is too small and can see that they have distinguished between social and competition rounds using the outline of each score and then the light green flag to show counting ones. This might work on a PC screen, but does not work at all on a tablet or phone. There are so many better ways to present this, just ask an actual UX person.
- Player search/peer review. Can no longer search for a club then search for the player in that club. It must be broken because the options on this page are just filters. Unless someone is a friend or in your club, you can't check their handicap, which is essential when playing in something like the TravisMathew matchplay comp.
- Same problem as above but with the attestation. They have to be in your club or a "friend".
- My home club isn't even set as my Home club in the app, it's an Away club. Can't see how to change this in the app or the website. It would be more useful to have a favourite clubs that you can manage yourself and get quick handicap calculations for them.
The app wasn't great before but it did a job and had sensible visuals. This is a bad regression.
