The actual myGov website would say the code generated is incorrect. As there was no other way to log in (SMS, secret question) I was locked out! Prepare to be on the phone to myGov hoping for your account to be freed. They also had no initial understanding of what was happening.
I used it because I was overseas and didn’t have access to my AU phone always. But no I’m onshore, DELETE!

I don’t think this app is used anymore since the addition of Passkeys to the MyGov app.

Useless
Can’t even register a device. Why do we need yet another app as a code generator. Any Authenticator app will do the job. Again, using tax payers money to keep consulting companies alive. I’m fuming.

Needs to be updated so that you can change the device used to receive codes through this app; it should only take loading up the app new device and clicking transfer. Additionally this app seems to have signed me out without my consent so I can no longer use it to log into my myGov account.
Abysmal
If you get a new phone you can’t re-register the device without waiting hours on a call; so need to create a whole new account.
Disfunctional
This app is an absolute joke. It doesn’t work properly and an absolute waste of time! Not to mention a waste of tax payers money.
A stupid App
This is the poorest Apps I never seen in my lifetime. The app does not consider people’s need to buy new mobile phone or they may lost their phone or accidentally delete this Apps. It does not consider people who are foreigner and do not have digital ID to recover the account. And the help desk for people calling from overseas has nobody to answer for months. I have been struggling with this kind of lousy service for months and still failed to resolve the problem and file my tax return.

Works fine for its intended purpose BUT
They should just let people use their own 2FA app/s if they want to, rather than forcing them to use this app.
I found a desktop app (on GitHub some years ago now) that was able to give me the TOTP seed/secret meaning I can now use the 2FA app/s of my choice to get the codes rather than being forced to use this app.
I just use Bitwarden for all my 2FA codes these days and FreeOTP or Tofu for Bitwarden itself.
If I delete this app (I did) or lose my phone or something, I won’t lose access to my myGov account because I have the seed/secret in Bitwarden.
I found that not all 2FA apps (Authy for example) support the more advanced SHA512 algorithm, which is what the myGov one uses. That was some years ago now though.

Same loop over and over again can’t get code to access account
Absolutely useless
Absolutely useless the codes don’t generate through emails to get the app started and it locked out the my gov app too cz of this now it’s all stuck and have to call the centerlink help line and wait on hold all day absolutely useless verification can’t believe things this country get away with
Terrible app do better
This app seems to work for a week then after the codes do not work when signing in to MyGov. Have had my account locked and even erased at one point. This is a trash 2FA method and a headache if you live oversees without an Australian phone number.

Tried multiple times to reset password allows you to do it then it doesn’t work.

I can’t even sign in. Literally cannot tap in the username box because the screen jumps somewhere else.

Wow, can this app be any worse? Probably but that would take some skill to achieve, not sure how you could achieve that.
DO NOT USE THIS APP
Hi everyone, this app has a serious glitch, it links to your device, so if you use it to access myGov with one phone and lose this phone or Upgrade to another phone, you can not verify anymore and you have to create a whole new myGov account. The code generator is not good, you should only verify with email. They need to make code generator and myGov two step authentication via email or my ID. Otherwise it locks you out of everything.
