About
Know the cost before you get in.
MyKaab is a Nigerian ride-hailing service operating in Abuja and Lagos, built and operated with AUATON, the Amalgamated Union of App-Based Transporters of Nigeria.
THE PRICE, BEFORE YOU COMMIT
Base fare, distance, time and the two levies are each listed with their rate on the screen before you confirm. Your receipt afterwards carries the same lines. Nothing is added at the end.
On Economy: ₦2,500 to start, ₦150 a kilometre, ₦50 a minute, and ₦100 a minute of waiting after the first three minutes, which are free. Comfort and Executive carry their own rates. Rates are national, so a trip is priced the same in Abuja as in Lagos.
AGREE YOUR OWN PRICE
You and your driver can settle a different fare before the trip starts. The agreed figure replaces the quote.
COVER ON EVERY TRIP
Passenger cover is on the bill of every trip at ₦350, not an extra you have to remember to add. It is passed to the underwriter in full. The ₦30 state road development fund is passed on in full too. Neither goes to MyKaab.
SAFETY, FROM THE TRIP SCREEN
Share your trip and whoever opens the link sees where the car is, where it is going and the route, without needing the app. One tap on SOS reaches our safety desk around the clock and, if you have chosen one, your emergency contact.
Calls with your driver go through a number that belongs to neither of you, so nobody finishes a trip holding a stranger's personal line. Trip recordings are kept for thirty days and then deleted.
DRIVERS WHO ARE CHECKED
Licence and vehicle papers are verified before a driver takes a trip, and again when those papers expire. An AUATON chapter officer confirms union membership separately.
WHY THE FARE ADDS UP
MyKaab takes no commission on any trip. There is no platform cut buried in your bill, which is why every line on it can be explained.
