Cannot Access My Own Account with Listed Email

I needed to login to MyMount to register for a course that fills up quickly. My own password credential listed on Admission doesn’t work and I am unable to reset my own password, “because [I] haven’t registered for password reset.” Why was I not given the ability to reset my own unworking password in the first place?
