New Update

All of what everyone has said is true and with this new update, I am not receiving any notifications.

Update downhill

The newest update went downhill in terms of user usability. It’s very buggy, and I miss the feature in the old app that showed calls/messages in timeline order all on one screen. Now if I want to call AND text the same contact, I have to Search their contact in the text tab, send the message, get into the phone tab, search the same contact again, then call.

Use this app if you want to drive away customers

I can’t say enough bad things about MRC. It’s the only app approved at my firm, otherwise I would never use it.
The way this app handles calls (by connecting the user’s number and the clients number) often doesn’t work. I’ve tested this with my wife’s phone and often a failed call goes ahead and rings to her phone, sometimes many minutes later and when she answers there’s no one there.
Additionally, I had a client try to add his wife to make a group text. Not only did MRC just throw out that message because they don’t support MMS, it didn’t notify me or the client that the message didn’t go through.
I can’t imagine how much business I’ve lost due to this app. If the big broker dealers ever allow competition, MRC will be out of business in days, as they deserve to be.

Update

New and much improved!

Bug with new message

The “new message” icon does not allow user to compose a message. Have to locate person in address book or history and then start message. UI is much improved.

Not user friendly

Horrible app for such an important task! Unable to track conversations!

Calls

From people I never knew

There has to be better options out there

Their app is constantly glitching. Even with the recent update glitch with all of the AI stuff out there and all the advancements and technology their has to be a better compliant option.

Prettier and less functional

Cannot compose a text message to client which is kinda the only reason this app exists.

Great update

The app looks so much better after the update. It’s also way smoother.

In true MyRepChat language

I have logged in to see the new version of the app and nothing has changed. It’s the same garbage UI with the same archaic architecture that was used to make the first calculator.

Garbage.

Of course the app is garbage. It’s required by the government.

Terrible app

Sending pictures is difficult and tedious. App constantly needs to be deleted and downloaded again. It never shows the red circle when I have new messages. Many times it shows the same text string 4 or 5 times in a row on the message page. There’s no way to mark a message as “unread.” Why can’t it work as easily as the green text app on an iPhone. This shouldn’t be difficult.

Notifications

My biggest issue with this app is that when I tap a notification about a new message from my lock screen, it does not take me to that conversation. It takes me to the last conversation that I had open most recently. It works just fine besides that, but that is extremely inconvenient and not free of risk. Be careful when opening notifications from your lock screen.

One of the more terrible apps in existence

Latest update: Its latest thing is crashing to a blank screen if you switch between it and another app. What a piece of garbage.

Both as an advisor and an iphone user, this is the worst app I use. And it's the only texting option in our tech stack for texting because the other app we can use is so bad that it doesn't even function enough to get one star. The bar in the finance industry for technology is soooo low. Any high school kid with codeing knowledge could put finance texting apps to shame.

Bad service

Bad service

Horrendous performance

You would think they would have improved when fmg bought them. Instead it’s a dated app with horrible service. But fmg pays off the broker dealers to be the preferred vendor. So we are stuck with a garbage app

Glitchy notifications

I am required to use MyRepChat for compliant texting. While the app is rather glitchy and many of the features accessible via desktop are missing from the app, the app serves its intended purpose.
The most frustrating glitch is that I have a number of perpetual “ghost notifications” indicating unread messages despite all of my messages having been read. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to clear the notifications. I know other MRC users experiencing the same problem. This glitch requires me to remember the number of ghost notifications that always appear in the red dot on the app. Then, when the notification figure exceeds the number of ghost notifications, I know that I’ve actually received a text message.

Necessary evil in over regulated industry

I can attest to what most other reviewers are saying. It serves a compliance purpose, but it is rough in terms of usability. Constantly buggy and just not great user experience. At $180 per year cost, one would hope that money would go toward improving user experience, but with every sporadic update performance stays the same, but hey they updated the icons!! Yay 😕

Needs improvement

It has a badge notification icon that won't go away. So I turned off badges and missed an important text. That's just the latest issue. Seems like an app from 15 years ago. I would never use it if compliance did not require it.
