Lasso won’t move selected
When I use lasso, I can’t move selected, please make an update and make sure the update makes the lasso tool move selected items. And resize won’t work either.
Unfortunate
The app doesn’t allow you to test its handwriting recognition capabilities without buying, making the app worthless to a student or a career professional. Although I was ready to abandon Goodnotes, it’s still the only leading note-taking app with handwriting recognition capabilities.
AI? Quizzes? Keep it simple, stupid!
I agree with Steve@Aberdeen’s review. This app does everything you need from a note-taking app, and does it very well. Its handwriting recognition in particular is superb – far better than any others.
But the authors are starting to add distracting bells and whistles. It links to some kind of AI engine. You can set up a “Study Space”, which is an automated way of producing an interactive quiz from your notes.
FFS – just focus on being the best note-taking app out there, and cut out all the ridiculous distractions.

This IS the best note taking app. I DO have horrible handwriting, this app better interprets my hieroglyphics than its reviews. More is not more accurate. I loved MyScript stylus, but this builds on a foundation. I think better with meditative cursive writing. This IS the app I will be using.
Great at notetaking horrible at syncing
I got this app because I needed something that did very well with handwritten recognition as well as backed up to a cloud base server. I am in and out of clients homes on a regular basis and had left my notebook full of Client notes accidentally in someone’s house a few times. The notes were probably worth thousands of dollars to me. I got the app because of its ability to recognize handwriting as well as to sync to a cloud base server. The app does one of these well. the syncing is horrible multiple times a week I have to reconnect it to the server. I can never trust that. It’s actually backing up my notes and always have to be double checking. In this day and age when things back up automatically, it is very annoying to have to be double checking to make sure your backup solution is actually working. By the way, I paid for a lifetime, premium subscription, so I’m not just trying to do this without paying for it. I also paid for the same subscription on my android device, which does not work at all.

ALL FEATURES NOW BLOCKED TO FORCE PREMIUM
I’ve been using this to take notes for work for 3 years bc of the convenient features like writing with pen and tapping to convert to text, scratching out to erase. I use it every day. Suddenly today every time I write and tap or try to erase, I get a pop up that this feature is only available if you subscribe. These are not premium features but basic features that make this app now unusable in the free version. Don’t bother. Ruined one of the best notes apps there was.

Almost perfect for me
I’ve switched from my other note taking app because MyScript Notes is incredible at handwriting recognition, including for my fairly incomprehensible cursive writing. It’d be perfect if there were page options with different line widths though. Currently, it’s one size fits all and I really don’t want to have to zoom into the page to get the spacing that I want.

Virtually no file management
I couldn’t figure out how to copy files or move them between folders. You can’t have folders inside folders. Just 2 layers, collections and folders.
So if you have a collection for work, school and personal. Then inside have a folder say for each job, you can’t have folders about different parts or people in the job.
The response that it isn’t a bug is correct. All the issues I have are their design choices

Great app!
Wonderful app. I use it for drawing and I really love it. But you lost 2 stars for 2 reasons. 1: -.5 stars (because it's far less annoying than the other thing) because it crashes quite often. Usually when I'm trying to pick my colour.
2: -1.5 stars because it will randomly erase my work out of nowhere for no apparent reason. SOMETIMES I can click undo and it will come back. But most times it will undo the previous thing from it, like my work never happened. So that’s highly frustrating. Otherwise, it’d be awesome if the undo button was on the main screen 😊

My patience with this app couldn’t last for long…
Since the app does not provide any option for private feedbacks, I will leave it here… I purchased a year of subscription, and wasn’t happy about my decision later.
The app supposed to have an amazing feature where any line you draw can become a perfectly straight line. It did. But every single time the line was jumping around the screen, moving randomly up and down. Every line. This was extremely annoying and it messed up all of my notes. Eventually I started pressing a cancel-the-last-cation button to keep the lines in original format (not perfect at all), because the app does not offer an option to turn off this feature. Similarly how it does not offer to remove the feature of cancelling the last step by some hand move which often happened accidentally when my hand was resting on the screen during writing. Sometimes I would have to keep my hand lifted to void this annoying cancellation of the last action.
The app definitely has some good potential as it offers convenient organization of notes by folders and exporting options, but it is still far from perfect. I am happy I finished this semester and won’t have to use this app ever again, because my patience was challenged all the time with the app.
I hope the developers add report a bag or send a feedback feature for all current and future users.

I love this app, and I love the one-time payment option. It is also well maintained.
However:
Things this app desperately needs:
- Ability to change the font of text
- Fix copy and pasting my own writing—it’s broken
- The ability to copy and paste images, text or writing between documents
- More background color options
- Fix the auto highlighter—it has a mind of its own
- Fix the crop tool for images—it’s completely unusable
Some things that would be nice:
- Ability to non-uniformly resize sketches and also flip them vertically or horizontally
- Be able to rotate written notes
- A built in search function
- Better support for tables
- Make the AI less dumb—it struggles with math input
- Allow LaTeX formatting in the chat bot’s responses
- Better superscript and subscript recognition
- Easier way to edit math conversions
- Conversion to LaTeX code and the ability to search it—I will love y’all forever you have no idea
- Ability to add voice notes and other simple accessibility features
This is on its way to becoming a great app and could very well leave GoodNotes in the dust. The developers clearly listen to their users and are on top of app issues. Please keep up the updates!💜

it doesn’t basic note taking option and lag a lot .we have better apps to take note and do stuff .worse buying it. really mean it bro
Really good, but words overlap
I like using the app for scribbling down notes and mind maps because it’s easy and quick, but one thing that keeps happening is that after a while, when i come back to the notes, the words I wrote down move and overlap another section of my writing and I cant move it because it’s merged with the other words now and I can’t read them anymore.

Contanly crashes, currently unable to access my notes and this app holds almost 3 years of notes
This app constantly crashes on me, I once lost 12h worth of notes because of it and was unable to get them back a day before a big exam. I keep getting logged out and I am currently unable to access my notes. It shows an add and then the screen stays frozen and blurry.
Hours of work lost
I was genuinely enjoying this application on my iPad as I needed something more flexible than my MacBook. Today I noticed that I was signed out of my account. I attempted multiple times to sign in, but it would just freeze for no apparent reason. I tried to uninstall and reinstall hoping it was just a glitch with the software. Unfortunately it was not and all the information I wrote down is now lost. I will be moving onto more reliable note taking app after this experience.

Disappointing App
This app is extremely disappointing. There are very few customizations in preferences, and many of the default shortucts (straight lines) are extremely frustrating. The app is very buggy as well, and frequently removes the ability to undo and go back. There is no continuous scroll notebook option and switching from one notebook page to the next is super slow and buggy. It lacks any sort of hierarchical folder organization necessary for more complex note taking structures. The only plus is the convert to math functionality, but even that is hit or miss.

I loved this app but i refuse to use anything with ai slop forced onto it. It was perfect before this slopware was injected. I will miss it.
Subscription
Been using this app for a long time. It’s been an absolute favourite of mine for being able to write my notes and such. I don’t use the AI features aside from converting my writing to text on occasion. The pencils work well, the highlighting pens are excellent, and it’s super easy to organise things. However, despite how much I love everything else about the app, I’m sick of seeing everything get locked behind a subscription service. Every other app I have seems to fall to this eventually. Is it cheap? Yes. Are there similar free apps or one time payment apps? Also yes. I understand needing to make money but really I can’t find a single reason to pay a subscription for this.

Handwriting is great, sync is a mess
Basically the title. Sync is a hot mess most of the time. Every time I have to reconnect Google Drive I get a duplicate, triplicate, etc collection.
