Clunky
Very clunky app, the email part is especially hard to use. When you’re writing an email you can only see your keyboard, not what you’re writing which is such a pain. You also can’t read one email then go back to your other emails, you have to go all the way back to the Home Screen. It’s handy to have the timetable though and to be able to see what books you have out of the library. If the email issues could be fixed it would be a good app.

All round terrible
Solent’s online systems are very flawed, and this app is no exception. When joining uni, you might desire the app on your phone to act as a hub with everything in one place, organised layout, easy sign in, but MySolent couldn’t be further from a convenient companion app. It’s truly awful.
The menus are messy, making the app hard to navigate. It’s hard to familiarise yourself with the app when half the tabs are totally useless or outdated.
The sign in system doesn’t work. You’ll have to download the Microsoft Authenticator app, which often has trouble syncing between accounts often leaving you completely locked out of the app.
It also crashes. A lot.
Seriously. This app doesn’t just need updating. It needs renovating from top to bottom. Much like Solent’s website, and SOL, it reeks of outdated laziness from the uni. Very disappointed.

Shame
Not sure what’s happened as this used to be decentish. Now it never gets past authentication stage. Calls approves then doesn’t take to app, need to update with mfa

The app has actually been updated and looks a lot smoother than in the pictures. It actually now works, displays a timetable and upcoming assignments. It does rely on your lecturers keeping your online timetable accurate and putting all minor assessments on there, which unfortunately mine do not do so I still have to use a picture of my timetable.
