Accessibility for this app
OK, so first of all, let me state that I am a blind and visually impaired user and I use a screen reader which is a software built-in to Apple‘s devices. It’s called voiceover voiceover is used to help people blind people navigate and use their phone and And well, so this app is practically unusable and practically inaccessible to the blind. This app needs some major accessibility work well I don’t know like anything really about app coding or anything, but it definitely needs some work. The reason why I can’t even use it is because it says slide to begin. that is visual if you think about it stop and think about it for a second as you’re reading this review do you do you know how not blind friendly that is that’s why there has to be like a continue button or a begin button and like every element and every part of the app needs to be labeled and like described and mean like like the more text space the app no more text based the app is and the more labeled buttons and the more described images. There is the better there’s not a lot of very accessible pet games out there for the blind and I’m surprised this app doesn’t even send notifications or at least I haven’t gotten to the notification permission yet but cause I can’t even use it. I can’t even set it up so yeah it’s like it’s practically useless now I really want to like push you guys to make it accessible because I’ll emphasize this again. There’s not a lot of accessible pet care games not even a lot of accessible games for the blind, and also, I even wonder how authentic to the actual original Tamagotchi is this app how authentic I mean I would really like it to be as authentic as possible because it looked the title literally says my Tamagotchi and when I hear that I literally think physical digital Tamagotchi device and put it inside a Phone app that’s what I think and there’s not very many of those. The ones that exist are for Apple Watch and the ones that do pop up on the App Store for iPhone are usually not very accessible and usable like this one and I really really encourage you to do this to make it accessible and usable for the blind. Everyone should be able to play virtual pets not sided people every disability should be able to play so I hope this review persuade you and you do another update and you make this app as accessible and as polished to the blind and that way, we’ll have another accessible app out there that all the blind people will love. another note. I’ll add since I in case I didn’t explain that well that slide up begin gesture that’s not going to work gesture based interactions don’t work, so don’t even think about doing a dragon drop gesture gesture based interactions won’t work. It has to be like menu based interactions and everything like has to be buttons so yeah
