What's New in myTMJ Tracker

2.5.0

May 14, 2026

v2.5.0 — Smarter flare risk with your indoor/outdoor context NEW: Microenvironment awareness - myTMJ now knows if you're indoors or outdoors when you log an entry - A quick "Where are you?" tap (Home, Work, Outdoors, Vehicle, Other) improves your risk score — your answer caches for 2 hours so you're not asked repeatedly - HomeKit integration: if you have paired air-quality sensors (Eve, Awair, Netatmo, or Google Nest via Apple Home), myTMJ reads their current values when you log - On-device motion inference uses your iPhone's barometric and step sensors to estimate indoor status — all processed on your device, never uploaded Smarter Flare Risk calculation - Outdoor air quality, UV, and temperature are now weighted by your indoor/outdoor context - Example: a smoky day with AQI 150 impacts your risk less when you're sealed indoors with filtration, and more when you're walking outside - Barometric pressure still counts fully indoors — pressure passes through walls Voice logging gets environmental data - Siri-logged flares and symptoms now receive the same environmental and microenvironment snapshots as manually-logged entries (previously Siri entries had no weather context) - Say "Hey Siri, log a flare in myTMJ Tracker" and everything is captured automatically Caregiver Mode respects context - When logging for a family member or patient, the location prompt and HomeKit readings are automatically hidden — your location doesn't reflect theirs Privacy preserved throughout - Raw motion data stays on your iPhone and is never uploaded - Raw outdoor weather data is preserved unchanged — microenvironment context is added alongside, not instead of, your environmental snapshot - All three methods can be independently disabled in iOS Settings Also in this update - Improved keychain security for biometric sign-in - Fixed a CoreLocation warning in background logs - Various stability improvements

A Game Changer for TMJ and Headache Sufferers

As a TMJ patient, I finally feel empowered.

For years, managing TMJ, migraines, and headaches felt like an endless loop of reacting to pain and bracing for the next flare. This app completely changes that experience. The videos are clear and helpful, the reminders are timely without being intrusive, and most importantly, the generated reports are incredibly insightful. They track both internal and external factors and truly shed light on personal triggers in a way I’ve never seen before.

What stands out is how proactive it is. Instead of waiting for symptoms to hit, the app helps you understand patterns ahead of time. Seeing how things like sleep, stress, and even environmental changes come together to influence a flare has been eye-opening. It turns something that felt random and uncontrollable into something I can actually manage.

This feels like a new era of TMJ and migraine care. You’re no longer just reacting to pain, you’re anticipating it and, in some cases, preventing it altogether. It’s a powerful shift from feeling like a passive sufferer to becoming an active participant in your own care.

For anyone dealing with TMJ or chronic headaches, this is more than just an app. It’s a tool that brings clarity, control, and a sense of confidence back into daily life.

My TMJ journal and trainer

MyTmj Tracker is exactly what I needed. It works like a TMJ journal that makes it easy to track symptoms, flare ups, and daily patterns all in one place. I love that it generates a PDF I can bring to my doctor’s appointments because it makes explaining what’s been going on so much easier.

The exercise videos are amazing and honestly feel like having a physical therapy session at home. I also love that it syncs with my Apple Watch, which makes tracking even more helpful. I am really excited to see how my heart rate changes during flare ups using the watch data.
