Now with NAM A2

This is what you’re looking for…dual full NAM A2 amps and IRs, you can build a crazy setup with an interface, midi pedal board, and multiple instances of this running just on an iPhone or iPad. Latency is no greater than with a pedal modeler and you can have so many amazing effect options. There just isn’t much of a reason for a hardware modeler anymore.

Doesn’t work

Purchased this to use in Logic Pro on my iPad Air (2022). Upon trying to import .nam files (and I tried several different ones, tried to import in both logic and standalone, messed with audio settings, renamed files, moved files, everything), all that happens is a “failed to import” warning. I suspect that an iOS update might have something to do with this app breaking. For now, avoid like the plague.

EDIT: I have been informed that this isn’t the fault of the devs. The program was designed for use with A1 nam files and tone3000 have recently updated all of their files to A2. The devs are updating the app to be compatible in due course.

Great app but state saving issues

When I change a parameter in Nam XT then save the Logic project and reopen it, Nam XT doesn’t recall the latest settings. It only reloads the saved preset.

One day its working. Now its not working

So here is the truth. Been working for a week I would say. Then suddenly today it’s not working. What do I mean by not working? The sound coming from the NAM XT going to my audio interface via usb c is outputting only dry signal??Unprocessed guitar signal. Checked the settings and audio input/output is okay. Levels are okay in the NAM XT and in the audio interface. Restart the iphone and still not working. Deleted and reinstalled the NAM XT and still not working. Ohhh maybe my audio interface is not working, so I plug it in my pc and and open Neural Amp Modeler Standalone, load up an amp head and IR and its working. Tried other Amp Sim plugins in my DAW and it’s working. Now back to plugging it in my iphone 15 and opening up NAM XT and still not working, only dry signal. Levels good, inputs are good, used 5 different usb c cables and still not working. I’m out of refunds for this after many days. So what do you think Artera Dsp? Why is it not working.

Why is the top end muted?

This app is ok with what it does, but it does not faithfully recreate the same hi-fidelity tones as the real Neural Amp Modeler application. The tones on this app as compared to the real NAM app are muted. As if a blanket is placed over the speakers.

Outstanding Application. Excellent quality. Buy Now

TL;DR: Outstanding App. Highest Recommendation. This is a large improvement over GifFast LiTE which is made by same company. I have lifetime license to GifFast and there is a noticeable improvement in the sound fidelity in NamXT vs GiGFast. Also, NamXT does NOT crash inside A-U-M when switching presets. That is a HUGE improvement. Can also use dual amps, use one IR for both Amps. All in all, do not hestitate to purchase this application. For the small amount they are asking you get large functionality and a stable application.

No Full AUv3 Support

Missing AUv3 State Saving, which is critical for my live use case.

Just what I was looking for!

I’d searched before but had no luck finding an IR loader for iPad. I found one, not this, which wasn’t very good. Not sure why this didn’t show up.

Anyway, I want IR’s to muffle the sound of my piezo acoustic pickup and make it sound more natural. This does exactly that and is rock solid when loaded up and set. I’m super happy.

My only suggestion to the developer would be to load up some presets so users can dive in straight after loading the app. I had to go and download some as I didn’t have any IR or NAM files around, but found some on tonehunt, loaded them up and I was off.

Given this is an AUV3 you can load it up in Logic, or Loopy Pro etc, and run that into any effects you want. As I say, I just wanted a more natural sound before further processing and this does just that. Honestly super happy, well deserved 5 stars.

One final bit of feedback for the developer, it would be great if we could copy presets. That way I could duplicate to a new preset then continue modifying as needed. Also, and again not critical, it crashed when I was changing the name of the preset whilst my DAW (Loopy) was playing. Obvious solution is to not have it playing whilst changing names but just wanted to give you a heads up should that be an easy fix.

Already very impressive

This app is already very impressive, it still feels a little rough round the edges (and: I feel there must be scope to do something really clever to help organise capture files) but it is early days and already a game changer. Find a good amp capture on ToneHunt and say goodbye to T*n*X and the other bloodsuckers! This thing sounds and plays incredible. Ten quid to have a Plexi on my iPad…

Sounds Great

The app sounds great and does not use a lot of CPU.

It does have some bugs and a shortcoming that needs addressed.

The bug is that in IpadOS 18.3 RC when hosted as an AUV3 the import screen freezes and you cannot import a NAM profile or an IR.

You can import in standalone mode, save a preset then open that preset in AUM or Audiobus, but the app also sometimes fails to load. You have to hit reload seeral times and it starts.

On MacOS (14) the shortcoming is that there is no VST or AAX version to load, and this is needed as I use BlueCat Patchworks to make presets that incliude other apps.

All in all not bad for 10 bucks, the 4 stars is just based on how it sounds, were it to work flawlessly it would be 5 stars.

Amazing!

Awesome NAM plug-in for iOS guitarists. Runs super smooth in GarageBand and love the design
