What's New in Narratorr
1.10.0
August 26, 2026
A stability release. This one is mostly about narration doing exactly what you told it to. Fixed a crash. Starting narration on certain paragraphs could take the whole app down. Some books — webnovels especially — contain text in unusual lettering, and the reader couldn't handle it. Huge thanks to the readers who sent us the exact page. Tap where you want, get what you tapped. Tapping "Read here" on one paragraph and then quickly on another could play the wrong one, skip it entirely, or jumble the order. Each tap now cleanly cancels the one before it. Chapter titles also stopped reading themselves out in the middle of a chapter. Keep Screen Awake. A new switch in reader settings stops the display dimming and locking while you read. It's off by default and only applies inside a reader. See where you left off. Continue Reading cards and library rows now show a progress bar, how far through you are, and when you last picked the book up. Faster and lighter. Chapters open noticeably quicker in large EPUBs, scrolling stays smooth while narration plays, and imported books no longer leave an unpacked copy of themselves behind — so Narratorr takes up far less space over time. More bugs squashed: • Sleep timer set to "End of chapter" didn't stop for web articles, and could end playback immediately when starting a later chapter. • Paragraphs with text in angle brackets — common in system-message style webnovels — silently stopped playback. • Playback could stall with no error during long sessions. It now waits a moment and picks up where it left off. • A few chapters were missing from some EPUBs, because filenames merely containing words like "cover" were treated as front matter. • Bookmarks showed dates like "29 days 16 hrs". They now read Today, Yesterday, or a plain date. • With auto-advance off, finishing a web chapter no longer closes the reader out from under you.
