This is one of my best travel national parks app 👍you can get all information right in the app thank you developer🙏

This app could be better if it contained more detail— the level of road or river detail you find on a regular map. It did little good on my last trip around Mt Hood Or. Now I am considering taking it with me to the BWCA (Nothern MN- Canada), but I’m not very optimistic. So two stars may even be generous.

Response from developer

If you're planning a trip to Mount Hood in Oregon, use our Oregon Pocket Maps app. It's got all the detailed maps you need for national parks, state parks, and forests. We just added all the forest district maps by the United States Forest Service, so you'll have everything you need to explore the great outdoors.

Maps

Terrible to no search feature evident.
Warning beware there is no Internet or cell service in Yellowstone Park. Bought this and other apps and were unable to use with our cell service. Now I’m struggling to figure out how to cancel this subscription.

Response from developer

Hello, please update to the latest version. In the past 2 months we worked on the search feature. You can find more than 70,000+ points of interests, 11,400+ trailheads and 7,300+ campgrounds and campsites. Please give it a try.

Informative

Helpful to see the weather alerts!

This has everything you need for the parks!

Maps, brochures, weather, park status & alerts…. It has everything!

Yellowstone

This moving map got us through Yellowstone. The park has inadequate signage. With the use of your map, we could see upcoming sites and stops.

Love the app but I lost compass at the top of my map

So far it is the most accurate map I came across for hiking, but I seem to lose a Compass indicator at the top of my map on the left side? How can I get it back

This app is a scam

Once you subscribe there is no way to stop automatic renewal charges to your credit card. I’m trying to cancel mine and there is no way to do it.

Merely a subscription instrument

No thanks 🙏

Accurate

Wherever I went the map provided accurate information.

Latest info more than a year out of date!

2020-2021 information is the most recent here.

Notification Spam

I’m not loving the way that the app assumes I want notifications from every single park I viewed the page of. I don’t need updates on all these parks that I’m not currently at!

Update: I turn off the alerts for each park and I still get alerts for those same parks even though it shows that I turned that off!

Amazing - do it all

National parks have never let me down. I’m looking forward to spending the next month at as many as possible. You can get a cool passport at many of them and travel all over - very fun to fill up the book with stamps

Glitch

Attempted to use this multiple times during my trip to different NPs and it was glitching. Not losing at all. Useless to have went there is no phone service as well. Needs an offline option.

Response from developer

The app was designed especially for the offline case! As soon as you open a park, the app will download texts, photos, audio guides, the latest news and alerts automatically on the device. You can download park maps, brochures and sections of the base map, too. We would like to hear about any glitches you experienced out there. Please use the "feedback" function in the app's settings menu. We will try to fix any issues in the upcoming releases. Thank you and kind regards, your National Parks Pocket Maps team.

Not working

No longer works on iPad crashes when trying to open. Worked before last update.

Response from developer

🐞 fixed. App starts again on iOS 12 devices. Please download the latest version of National Parks Pocket Maps.

Lots of ads, no way to filter

Just for 30 seconds, lots of ads take up the screen real estate about 30%, and no way to filter only national parks.

Subscriber review

NPS sites provide same info. Buy the year subscription and try to view a National Monument. Oops. Need another subscription. Buy the year National Subscription and try to visit a National Forest. Oops. Need another subscription.

Response from developer

This app has *all* U.S. National Parks, National Monuments, National Recreation Areas, etc managed by the National Park System (NPS). An active subscriptions gives you full access to all data within the app. We also provide a range of local apps for Arizona, California, Utah, ..., with guides to sites and parks managed by other federal agencies (BLM, U.S. Forest Service) and by state and local agencies.
