This app doesn’t work. All it is is a colored map of the various tribes. The resources tab won’t open. All you can do is turn the colors on or off. I was really looking for information to learn more about the indigenous peoples of North America. This isn’t it.
They need to study the land better. Incorrect tribes in the plains.
They have Tsuut’ina as a large part of southern Alberta. Tsuutina got given 1 reservation to the west of Calgary by the Blackfoot confederacy. Because tsuutina joined the Blackfoot confederacy and as soon as they were given land they left and started to make deals with the Europeans. Blackfoot land was all the way from Edmonton down to Wyoming all the way iver to North Dakota and up to southern Saskatchewan but they only have a small spot on the map. Not sure if the creator of this app is prejudice or what.

Needs refurbishing
The app is lovely but most of the features are unusable outside of the treaties and colors buttons.
Crashes and features don’t work
When it worked properly it was amazing! But the majority of the features no longer work and/or cause the app to crash
Information is wrong
The map shows New Credit of the Mississauga being where the Haudenosaunee are. Plus the map labels the Haudenosaunee territory as a separate entity than the 5 original nations that made up the Haudenosaunee people. Who knows how much other information this app got wrong. Absolutely terrible app pretending to be educational. 100% would NOT recommend. This app should taken down.

Time to Act
Knowledge requires action. Is it right that so many universities in the US know that they are sitting on indigenous lands that were stolen, yet these institutions do nothing but offer a paltry acknowledgment… lip service! What good does that do for the indigenous peoples who were robbed, exploited and forced from their lands. GIVE IT BACK! What good could be done if Yale gave their campus property back to the Native American Quinnipiac tribe that once flourished on that land? Yale has a $40B+ endowment. They have the ability to do what is right by giving the land back to the indigenous people it was stolen from and relocate. Or Yale can buy the land from the Quinnipiac indigenous people at current market value. This is one example of thousands in the US… hypocrisy! All those who are for making things right should demand that these universities give the land back to the rightful owners or pay these exploited indigenous people current market value for the property. Acknowledgment does nothing but pour salt on multigenerational wounds. Atonement by these ultra-wealthy institutions is the only action that can begin to heal the wounds. Berkeley, Harvard, Princeton, Reed, USC, etc, etc… are each built on stolen lands. These are hypocritical institutions that love to give lip service, but NOTHING more. Let’s confront their hypocrisy and make them choose to do what is within their ability to right the wrongs of the past.

The resources are great and present info as clearly as can be expected, given shifting boundaries across time and imprecision of some historical data.
I’m so grateful that you added the ability to mark your current location! I understand why modern cities, borders, and roads aren’t on the map, but it can be challenging to find where you are, especially in some of the less-distinct stretches in the middle of the continent; having the geolocation option is extremely helpful.

Wonderful informative app, everyone should use !!
Australia needs updating
Downloaded to find the answer to my question but realized much later that there is much more information than I first thought. Such a great app once I explored it further. I should have waited until I had done more research before I reviewed.
Much improved.
I re-downloaded at the developers request after the most recent update and they have fixed all the issues from the previous version.

Crash in latest update, but FANTASTIC app
On my iPhone XR running ios 15.01, clicking any of the options under the resources tab crashes the app.

Needs More History
I love learning about different people and different cultures and I also love studying the history of people and who they were and their relationships with their neighbors. This helps understand how cultures grow and develop.
I will give this app the benefit of the doubt because it’s still growing but I would love for it to be a true tool for information about the people who lived in the Americas and around the world. As of right now it’s just a map which is interesting but very limiting in what there is to learn and understand. For instance, I would love to see a map where it shows which languages are related or the different language families each language is a part of and specifically which cultures speak these languages. This would give so much information on just how the cultural and political systems of various people are connected.
Another idea I would like to see is a time line of the various ancient cultures. For instance, the Mogollon culture of the southwest vanished about 600 years ago. After that their rivals the Dine and Hopi can be found in many of the ancient Mogollon regions. However, the Mogollon people didn’t disappear, just their culture did. The ancestors of the Mogollon culture still live there, just in a new tribes and new cultures. I would love to have that type of information available.

Good resource not optimized for practical use
This seems like it would be a very interesting educational and conversational tool, however it is currently very poorly optimized and as such it is very difficult to use. I thought this might be slightly more reliable than the website which has many of the same issues. I was mistaken.
I have an iPhone 12 Pro, which is at the time of writing this the most capable iPhone around. The app takes minutes (4+) to partially load and reference data for a simple location search, let alone start up a second or try to delve into more information about the location’s indigenous groups.
