About
■ What is this plant? Is it safe to touch?
A weed you passed on a walk. An insect resting on a leaf.
One photograph is enough. NatureLens finds the name and tells you
whether it is safe to touch.
■ It starts with a single photo
· Record plants, insects, animals, birds and fungi by photograph
· Get the species name, both common and scientific
· See what to be careful of — toxicity, allergens and the like
· Read background information such as flowering season and habitat
■ Hazard information comes from public data, not from AI
The answer to "can I touch this?" is not written by AI.
We show only what is legally designated — ecosystem-disturbing species under
the Biodiversity Act, harmful wildlife under the Wildlife Protection Act —
together with material we have compiled separately.
Where nothing is confirmed, we say "not confirmed", never "safe".
※ Hazard data is based on Korean law. Outside Korea most species will show
as "not confirmed". That is by design: we would rather say nothing than
say "harmless" and be wrong.
※ Species identification is reference material. Always get confirmation from
a qualified authority before eating or touching anything.
■ Walking makes a record
Start a survey and your route is recorded.
It keeps going while the screen is off and while you take photographs.
When you finish, the path you walked and everything you met along it
become a single map.
· Distance, time and the number of species you found, at a glance
· Every photograph appears on the map where you took it
· Share only the records you choose
■ Ask when you are not sure
· Ask other users about a record you cannot place
· Mark the answer that helped
· Share your observations with others
■ Who it is for
· Anyone curious about what they passed on a walk
· Parents observing nature with their children
· Anyone who wants to know what lives in their neighbourhood
· Anyone who has to keep a record of fieldwork
■ Nature, recorded by citizens
Observations left by users show what appeared where, and when.
One person's walk joins others to become a map of local life.
■ About location
The survey feature uses your location in the background so that your route is
not lost while the screen is off or you are using another app. It runs only
while a survey is active and stops the moment you end it.
