What's New in Version 1.7.1 – The "Safe Voyage" Update Ahoy Skippers! This is a massive update for charter sailors: take your logbook with you to any device, log a voyage across multiple time zones, and lock finished voyages so their legal and historical record stays exactly as you wrote it. Universal Backup & Restore (.nauplios) • Export any voyage as a single, portable .nauplios file. Your vessel data, log entries, photos, handover reports, checklists, and imported GPX tracks are all securely packed into one place. • Restore a backup easily from Settings → Data Management, or by opening a .nauplios file directly from Files, AirDrop, or Mail. • Hand a voyage off to a co-skipper on another Apple ID, archive a trip before wiping your iPhone, or safely back up your data offline. • Smart conflict handling: When restoring a voyage that already exists on your device, choose "Import as Copy" (auto-named) or "Replace Existing," complete with a clear safety warning if the voyage names don't match. Time-Zone-Aware Logbook • Log entries now remember the exact time zone they were recorded in. Cross the Atlantic and every fix keeps its original local time, with the zone abbreviation shown right next to it (e.g., "13:45 CEST"). • Day groupings perfectly respect the local date, ensuring midnight-crossings stay on the correct day. • Restoring legacy backups automatically infers each entry's time zone from its GPS position. Offline at sea? A longitude-based fallback is applied and marked "Approximate". • CSV exports use full ISO 8601 with offsets; PDF reports show each entry's local time; GPX stays UTC per maritime spec. Read-Only Voyage Mode • Lock a finished voyage with one tap from the voyage toolbar. The whole logbook becomes a clean, inspectable record—no accidental edits, no deletions. • All mutating controls are hidden: new entries, edits, GPX imports, route renaming, and voyage deletion are fully blocked until you unlock. • Exports, photo viewing, and handover check-out reports stay fully available, perfectly mirroring the real-world charter workflow. • Lock state survives backup/restore, meaning a voyage exported as read-only arrives read-only on the other device. Maximize the Voyage Map • New full-screen voyage chart: Tap the "Maximize" button on the inline map to open a chart-only view that fills the screen. • Imported GPX tracks, routes, and waypoints from Navionics, OpenCPN, and other tools are rendered at full scale. • Tap any log entry or photo annotation on the map to jump straight into its details. • The map opens perfectly framed around the entire voyage so you can follow your route from start to finish. Better Photo Viewing • Tap any log-entry photo to open a full-screen viewer with pinch-to-zoom, pan, and double-tap-to-zoom support. • Inline previews now display the entire photo at its natural aspect ratio (no more awkwardly cropped portrait shots). • Full-screen photo viewing works entirely within Read-Only mode so you can always inspect your visual records. Fixes & Refinements • The Dashboard Hero Map now updates instantly when you edit the latest entry's coordinates. • Restored smooth scrolling inside read-only log entries. • The Maximize map button is carefully positioned to keep Apple Maps' legal labels fully visible. • Various UI polish across the import preview sheet, photo sections, and edit forms. Fair winds and following seas!
