Great! Autopilot Steering with iPhone/Applewatch.

More reliable than Raymarines AP remote device. I can configure and see every parameter that is sent on the NMEA200 bus.
You need a (cheap) NMEA to wifi converter in your boat network.
More than worth the money!

Thank you for your 5* review. We are delighted that you are finding navCenter so useful and really appreciate you taking the time to write your review. We are currently working on two major additions to navCenter. One to extend our autopilot remote control to be able to handle B & G, Simrad and Lowrance autopilots and the other to add a chart plotter. As is our policy all such updates to navCenter will be available free of change to all existing purchasers and subscribers. If you have suggestions for enhancements or additions to navCenter (or you have any questions about using navCenter) then please get in touch via our contact page. https://www.guardiandigital.tech/navCenterContact.html. Best wishes. David.

Incredibly useful

My new yacht’s production chart plotter displays just fine for light-traffic areas, but I find navCenter’s AIS display provides far more awareness of the situation in high-traffic areas such. It handled the Straits of Malacca perfectly, showing relative positions at projected CPA much better than my boat’s onboard systems. Interfacing to the onboard NMEA data via Wi-Fi was not difficult and the various screens provided good awareness for me as skipper when I was off-watch as well. Thanks to the developers!

Thank you for your very helpful review. It is a real boost for us to hear that you found our AIS view so useful. As you are well aware, navigating safely through a high traffic area can be a very stressful experience with multiple targets competing for attention. Our aim was to leverage the power and flexibility of modern graphic displays to present complex traffic situations in as clear and unambigious a manner as possible. Thus helping a navigator to quickly decide which targets need immediate attention and which targets to automatically observe in case their situation changes. We are planning further enhancements to the AIS display and, if you would like to get involved, we would welcome your input. If you are interested then please contact our support team: https://www.guardiandigital.tech/navCenterContact.html. Best wishes. David

Love this app! But as of version 4.0 the watch app only connects to my autopilot intermittently!

We posted a reply to Tom on Aug 28 2025 asking him to contact us so that we could investigate the issue that he was experiencing. As of Oct 15 2025 we have received no response from Tom and so can only assume he is no longer experiencing any issues controlling his autopilot via his Apple Watch. Please be aware that posting a request for support within a Review is literally a waste of time. This is because Apple will not publish a review or our reply to a Review until it has been moderated - a process that takes multiple days. If you get in touch with us via our support team you will receive a response from us within hours rather than days and we will make sure you get the support you need. "https://www.guardiandigital.tech/navCenterContact.html" Our original response to Tom on Aug 28 2025 follows: Hi Tom. Sorry to hear that you are having trouble connecting to your autopilot. We are unaware of any issues with autopilot connection and so will need some information from you in order to track down the problem. Please contact our support team and we will soon find out what is going wrong. Contact details for our support team are listed here: https://www.guardiandigital.tech/navCenterContact.html. Grandios !!!

Funktioniert Super, bitte so weiter machen!

Response from developer

English Translation: Magnificent!!! Very easy to configure, with lots of customization options. Works great, please keep it up! The next update could include changing the tank names. Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a positive review of navCenter. We like your suggestion to allow Tanks to have user configurable names and will include this option in a future release. The ability to assign Local names to Tanks, Battery Banks etc. was implemented in version 4.3.0 of navCenter.

Response from developer

David For those of you who do not read French what "Unmasked45" had to say is: "The demo mode does not allow even limited use of real data. I have a navlink2 gateway at €270, and there is no guarantee that this software will meet my needs; commercially it is useless." Well 'Unmasked45 (A Kiss fan?) if I understand you correctly you are upset because our app 'navCenter' requires you to purchase or subscribe before you can connect it to your boats NMEA data via your Navlink2 (a good WiFi Server by the way) that you proudly inform us you paid €270 for. Of course you absolutely insisted that Digital Yacht send you a navlink2 at no cost so that you could ensure it would meet your needs before parting with any money - yes? What - no? You really just handed over €270 for a device that might not meet your needs; wow! navCenter is software and can only be purchased from Apple via the App Store. If you do not like the software or decide that it does not meet your needs Apple will refund you whatever you paid with no fuss and no bother. As for 'commercially it is useless'; man that is like a knife to our hearts. Well, not really, as I reckon you are on your own with that opinion. In fact 'Digital Yacht' the manufacturers of your Navlink2 certainly disagree with you. Here is a link to an article where they say some nice things about navCenter and point out that it was designed to work with their Navlink2. https://digitalyacht.net/2024/12/11/navcenter-app-compatability-nmea-2000-data/ But why do a little research and investigation when you can just lash out, chuck your toys out of the pram and enjoy a good tantrum. David

Fantastique !

David. Thank you Philippe for your very positive review. We are continuing to improve navCenter and plan to release significant upgrades later this year. As always all upgrades will be distributed free of charge to existing licence holders. David.

Cordialement, David Thank you very much for your positive review of navCenter. It is our goal to build navCenter as a 5* app and we really appreciate your 5* rating. Best wishes. David

Simply perfect, I wonder anyway if it can use local GPS

I really like this app. Easy to connect, nice interface, reliable. My only problem is that I don’t have a gps on board and I would love to use the iPhone GPS for COG etc.

Response from developer

Hi Jacopo. Thank you for your positive feedback; we are really happy that you like navCenter. It is a good idea to allow navCenter to use a devices internal GPS (thanks for the idea 😀) and we plan to include that facility in a future release of navCenter. Using the internal GPS would use a lot of battery power so if the facility is used for long periods it would be advisable to keep your phone plugged into a power source. Currently we are concentrating our efforts on adding support of NMEA2000 to navCenter. Once that is achieved (by mid summer we think) we will look at offerring the facility to access the internal GPS. I will then be in touch to let you know what we plan. Byron. Note the ability to use a devices internal GPS was made available from version 3.0.5.

Responsive developer

After talking to the developer, it sounds like the Raymarine Autopilot control feature currently requires bi-directional Seatalk support on your WiFi bridge. Some NMEA bridges support this, but many only do SeataIk input and NMEA output. Update: after getting a bidirectional Seatalk Wi-Fi bridge, the app works great. This requirement is due to Raymarine only partially implementing NMEA support on the ST6001 autopilot control head.

Hi Bert; thank you very much for your positive review. You are, of course, completely correct; you do need bi-directional Seatalk on your wifi bridge to properly control a Seatalk pilot as Seatalk pilot has limited NMEA support. Great to know you are enjoying the app and are now able to remotely control your pilot. Byron
