Fixed. An Opus library on the Original quality setting sat on Buffering with no error, and that is gone in the TestFlight beta at navibeat.app. It goes into the next App Store update too. If a track after a stalled one still refuses to play on the beta, write to support@navibeat.app with the Version line from Settings > About and I will work through it with you.

Fantastic App

I never write reviews, but this one is so exceptional I felt the need to. It is well designed, but most importantly a consistent experience across all devices. Having one app for my music across everything has been a dream for a while and this app absolutely nails it. The best navidrome client for Apple devices - period.

Can you smell the Claude

Very feature-rich, at least at face value. Loads of features, loads of bugs. But the ratio here is scary. Lots of the advertised features fail silently (including, ironically, logging for reporting)

With the feature-to-bug ratio and that distinct LLM look in the copy and in the design, I have to assume the code is slop, too. I’d love to be proven wrong, but I don’t expect these bugs to be addressed soon.

Nothing leaves the phone by itself. NaviBeat collects no data and sends no reports, so a log exists only when you make one: in Settings > Troubleshooting turn a channel on, do the thing that fails, then tap Prepare log and Send log, and it goes only where you send it. That is a privacy choice, and it stays. For the rest, write to support@navibeat.app with what failed and the Version line from Settings > About, and each one gets an answer from me. New TestFlight builds go out almost every day.

Opus support is broken

When trying to open an Opus file, app keeps buffering and will refuse to play any kind of other file after that.

Thank you. Each platform is built natively instead of one build stretched over all of them, which is slow to do, so it is good to hear it shows on both. On lyrics there is one more thing you may not have found: search also looks inside the lyrics of songs you have downloaded, so a half remembered line finds the track. Frequently fails to stream

NaviBeat often hangs on “Buffering” when trying to stream. I’ve changed all the settings related to streaming quality but I can’t seem to shake the dreaded “Buffering.” Doesn’t matter whether I’m on WiFi at home or cellular.

I’ve got both my local IP and public domains setup correctly. I’ve used other Subsonic apps in the same locations, on the same networks, and with the same server and they’ve all streamed perfectly.

Also, download speeds are absurdly slow, like under 1 MB/s when I’m on the same network as my server.

That should not happen, and it is worth two quick checks. In Settings, under Playback, set Stream quality on WiFi and Stream quality on cellular to Original: on an AAC, MP3 or Opus tier every track is converted before it reaches the app, and a download on one of those tiers waits on the same conversion. If you run Navidrome, also open Players in its web UI. Transcoding is set per player there, so the NaviBeat entry can be converting while your other apps are not. NaviBeat ships new TestFlight builds almost every day. If both are clean and it still hangs, write to support@navibeat.app with the Version line from Settings > About and I will work through it with you.

Пол дня по ходил прослушивая музыку в целом мне нравится. Но есть одно замечание буферит через два три трека mp3, FLAC, без разницы. Интернет LTE вроде стабильный. Со стороны сервера и прокси обратного все максимально оптимизировано путем добавления заголовков. Обратите внимание на это пожалуйста. А так пока на первый взгляд все нормально еще бы добавили заголовок идет тримминг или кэш.

Almost perfect tvOS client

The app is beautiful, snappy and offers just about everything I expect from a tvOS client. The only thing that’s a probably a bug is, on the Library tab, the sub-tab (Albums, Favorites etc) cannot be reached via navigation. It skips to the selection instead, so it is basically impossible for me to explore the library that way.

Красивая картинка, кривая реализация

С стороны выглядело как ультимативное решение для задачи работы на apple tv, в реальности крайне не удобный, не логичный UX, специфичный UI, много кривых элементов и спорных дизайн решений. Багов с запасом, пользоваться поиском невозможно, вернутся из части меню невозможно, радио не удаляется, и таких моментов очень много. В общем и целом разочарован, своих денег не стоит.

Cumbersome design

Somewhat bizarre navigation design on tvOS. Navigating through your library “artists” or “albums” requires selecting the library tab first, instead of being a normal menu item. Then if you play an album, you are kicked to the “now playing” menu and have to navigate back to library to browse other items. Why would you not just stay in library tab like every other media player?

Great Navidrome App!

It isn’t perfect but is by far my favorite app for macOS that connects to Navidrome. At the time of writing the app is still super new and I’m confident the features it lacks will be added over time — what exists currently works great. Worth the price.

Amazing app for navidrome music library!!

I don’t leave many reviews for apps. This app is great. I just downloaded it today, but I love its UI/UX. It has great touches like shuffling only liked music! I have tried free navidrome client apps and they are okay, but trust me, you will not regret paying for this. I haven’t tried it with car play yet, but I hope it works with it and shows the app icon in car play, if it doesn’t I hope the developer gets that added soon. Keep up the great work!
