updates

potentially excellent, but worryingly slow on updates - eg the stonking great new breakwater at the entrance to Cowes is still not shown - Navionics got there months ago

Excellent

This is a great app. AIS display is excellent. Great for crossing the shipping lanes. Display of cpa allows you to interpret if you will pass ahead or astern. I have it linked to a Vesper AIS engine & I think it's a better visual guide than other AIS displays. Great that it supports GPS data from AIS nmea data, only software that does this and I think more accurate than IPad internal GPS.

Greatly improved performance

I tried several marine navigation apps and this is my favourite in terms of ease of use and good looking, easy to read charts but it suffered from slow chart drawing and panning. Looks like the developers have listened and the charts are now drawing really fast with this new version and the detail is better than Navionics. Thanks.

Room for improvement

A good app for the money, slightly quirky interface, which needs some getting used to. Works very well once mastered, but my version crashes frequently on my iPad mini retina, which is a concern and doesn't happen with the other navigation apps I have (the lot). If I were to have to select one to keep though, it would be this one, hopefully the crashing will get sorted.

Very slow to render charts

The app looks to have one or two nice features, it's spoilt by very slow chart rendering. The Charts themselves lack the detail of navionics. No competitor for iNavx.
