NAVTEXpro is a mobile application designed to provide mariners with essential navigation warnings and safety-related messages. It accesses global NAVTEX radio station transmissions and can also retrieve navigation warnings from regions that do not broadcast via NAVTEX. The app requires only an internet connection to synchronize and display up-to-date information.
Key features include receiving global NAVTEX messages, accessing navigation warnings from specific regions like Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand, viewing transmission schedules and frequencies for various NAVTEX stations, and an optional subscription for APRS weather data. It also offers a subscription for Notices to Mariners.
NAVTEXpro operates on a subscription model. Users can subscribe to enable NAVTEX messages, APRS weather, or Notices to Mariners, with annual subscription options available for each service. Specific pricing details can be found within the app's 'My Subscriptions' section.
The application is designed for use on iPhones and iPads, requiring an internet connection to function. It does not require a direct connection to an HF radio, making it convenient for users on various vessels.
NAVTEXpro is highly beneficial for any mariner, whether a hobbyist or a professional, operating any type or size of vessel. It is particularly valuable for those whose onboard NAVTEX receivers may not operate on all frequencies, as the app provides a comprehensive alternative for critical safety information.
