Literally can’t stream any video on the phone. Shows zero video even though it says live. In the off chance it starts the video it’s loaded with online only ads and stops working within a minute or 2 with a playback error. Avoid it.

This app has scam advertisements, weird, creepy pictures from “sponsored” content there’s NEVER “normal” advertising content all the time. It’s enough to make people choose different news app.

Spam App
Basically the news and info is hidden under layers and layers of pop up ads and odd click bait. It’s like telling your parents to stay away from a certain clickbait website. That’s this app. It’s pretty bad. Terrible in fact.
Tornado Warning Ads
My county was just under a tornado warning. I had to watch a 30 second ad to even get to the live coverage. Deleting this app and going back to 10TV where I was able to watch a live feed immediately.
Literally Worthless
Who knew an app could actually be this bad? NBC 4 is the best news channel in Columbus, and they definitely have the budget to fix this pathetic app. When a company ignores something for this long, they are simply showing that they just do not care. I had this app years ago and it was terrible. I decided to download and try it again, under the assumption they had improved it. No…. It’s MUCH worse now. It’s unusable now. You open the app, it asks if you want to receive notifications (which is a joke because the app doesn’t even work), then it takes you to a screen showing the summary of the weather. You cannot scroll or go to either of the other two sections across the bottom.
NBC4 is clearly way better than CBS, FOX, and ABC here in Columbus, but they simply can’t be bothered to fix their app. When a company display such laziness and apathy, it begins to put a bad taste in your mouth. There is just no excuse, in the year 2025, for a company to have an unusable app/website, especially a company the size of NBC. Do better, guys…. Seriously.. Zero stars.

Below Average App
When reading an article and you get to the end of it, you have to rescroll all the way back to top in order to get a back arrow. And you can’t just flick it to get to top, you have to scroll one screen at a time. Not as easy to use as other Columbus area news apps.
App not well designed
The app is completely unusable on iPad. In landscape mode, the video will cover the entire screen making reading the text of the article impossible. In portrait mode, the text does not resize to fit in the screen and cuts off text on the right and left sides again making it impossible to actually read an article. And of course ads, ads, ads everywhere also making the app a very unpleasant experience.

Won’t work
I had this app and needed to reinstall it. When I did it won’t open. You just get two screens. One asking is you want news updates. The other asking the same about weather. Don’t matter how you answer it will go no further.

Terrible App
Teasers with little to no content. Election coverage is the worst, not in alphabetical order. Cannot find results from my county. Widgets are the same and are stories up to nearly a week old. I liked NBC 4 news but not this app. Also ads pop up when trying to find a story or information, so you get rerouted

Please change the alert tone back the text tone one like it was before IOS 17.
Doesn’t stream live news
I was hoping I could watch the local news live. It’s streaming from the evening before. Not what I was hoping since we canceled our cable and trying not to turn on tv with antenna and wake the kids.
App is horribly user-unfriendly
I think 4 has overtaken 10 in the last decade for best news coverage, but ABC 6 and 10TV have a far and away winner with their mobile apps, despite their station owners sucking the life from their respective newscasts.
I love NBC 4, but this app is riddled with performance-hogging advertisements and slow, unresponsive menus and scrolling. The feed is more like an embedded website than an actual app interface. Everything runs horribly and desperately needs rebuilt to be sustainable for a mobile environment.

App is terrible
The reporting is worse. Absolute garbage. The notifications all link to the wrong story and all the news is biased.
Stops audio from my audiobooks
Can’t read the news while listening to audible. Very frustrating.

Was hoping for local news, but fine mostly advertising. This app does not work well on my phone or iPad. I have most news apps from my area and this is the worst. I will be deleting it. This app needs attention.
