Great helper!

I enjoy and re-learned again what I was learning from the past. This app is a great resource to help me understand the basics and a better way. Thank you for the opportunity to keep it because it will help me to revise my knowledge and understanding of psychology.

Here’s where you screwed up

The questions are poorly worded and at times inaccurate. Plus, I don’t want to be told “here’s where you screwed up” when I’m studying. That is not supportive or encouraging at all, and it goes against the spirit of the counseling profession.

Not worth it

For such an expensive app is doesn’t work. Some of the answers are incorrect, there are spelling errors, and now I’m unable to look through my saved flash cards.

Unreliable

I would stay away from this app in particular. It gives false information. Several questions incorrectly mark the right answer as wrong. I figured this when it kept explaining how the original answer I picked (aka the right answer that was marked wrong) was actually true. Very confusing and misleading.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

This app uses extremely outdated information. One of the questions asked me about the DSM-III, are we really still expecting people to know outdated information from 1980?
The app also gives wrong answers. One question I answered, the app told me the answer was wrong- when I read through the feedback of the correct answer it gave an explanation of the all of the answers being correct not a singular answer. It is extremely confusing and frustrating for studying. You will feel extremely under prepared and stupid using this app. I can’t believe I spent money on this.

Not Nearly Enough

I used this app as a supplement to the Rosenthal book (excellent BTW). This app, totally useless, extremely easy phrasing of questions, nothing like what you need. Easy foils on the practice prep questions. Easy to spot. Flash cards may have been a slightly redeeming value. Just read the book!

Disappointing, demeaning

The app uses outdated language/info from previous DSM and several questions with answers that aren’t most relevant to organizational standards, e.g. outlining groups in a way that doesn’t agree with ASGW’s definitions, and not citing the alternative reference. Moreover, no matter how well you perform on a practice test, even a perfect score, a heading always shows up after completion that says: “Here’s where you screwed up….” And the app uses other negative remarks like this on the score page to try to discourage less than perfect scoring. But for a test that already evokes anxiety for many, this doesn’t seem productive, neither reinforcing to high scorers or motivating for low scorers.
