About
Nearby Signals shows Bluetooth announcements received by your iPhone, iPad or Mac while the app is open. See when a signal was last observed, its received strength and, when available, an advertised name and a manufacturer clue. Clues that may suggest smart glasses remain hypotheses. If only the peripheral name supplied by Core Bluetooth is available, the app distinguishes it from a name in the advertisement.
For a class, keep a list of people and the devices they declare, including people who declare no device. Class records expire by 30 June. For an event or private meeting, create a session with an end time; its declarations expire with it. You can remove a record or end a session at any time.
CSV measurement recording is optional and off by default. Turn it on if you want to keep measurements for export; export is manual. The exported file may include third-party device names.
A signal does not prove that a device is in the room, connected to the internet or recording. The absence of a signal does not prove that a room is free of devices. Declarations are never automatically matched to observations. Declared names remain in the app’s local storage and may be included in system backups.
