Great Idea with Fatal Flaw
In this age of so many options to FaceTime and Zoom, why is there a 100 mile limit to connect with someone to read with you? It’s extremely limiting. 100 miles or a 1,000 miles - makes no difference to me for online readings. Maybe it’s a pay to play option, but don’t see it anywhere.

This app is AMAZING! Super user-friendly and easy to use, it connects you to other actors in your area when you are in need of reader for an audition or even practice/class. The best part is you can select anyone you want that best fits your work PLUS they are all vetted and talented. You can use it for your own personal auditions as well as being a reader yourself for a little extra cash. The best part is, you form a little community of friends and talented artists who all help each other and make this industry a little sweeter.

Absolutely incredible!
I am so thrilled I came across this app because it has truly been a game changer when it comes to self taping, rehearsing or getting coaching when you need it all done virtually.
The hiccups I have faced with this app on previous versions have been resolved within a matter of hours and the people behind it are simply terrific. They make this app so fun and the interface is both wonderful in terms of usage and eye catching.
The fact that you have all your takes in the conversation with your reader right after you film is marvellous and the ability to edit and re upload is top notch. The feature to also change locations is AMAZING because you have so many options to have actors with different accents in different countries.
I am so BEYOND ELATED THAT I found this app and have the ability to have much more ease when needing to film self tapes. Thank you thank you thank you! Get this because it will truly assist you so much when it comes to your tapes.

Man this helped me out in a pinch! This app has reliable readers and experienced actors doubling as coaches or even engineers, I’ve reached out and gotten feedback on my reels, headshots and of course, the self tapes. It’s quick, really easy to follow and is SUCH a good resource
Doesn’t work
I downloaded this app and it won’t let me register even though I tried everything, and their “app support” leads you to a blank page.
Easy to use
Love the easy to use functionality of Need A Reader! The swipe aspect is cool. Has a lot of options on it too that are helpful. Sometimes I need two or more things I have to do in one session and it helps to be able to focus in on who can help with those things. Great.
One-Stop-Shop- for actors
Finally, a One-Stop-Shop for actors! Rehearse, self-tape, or do an in-person meeting for your auditions. You can make money as a reader or coach, too. So easy to navigate…there’s even a video tutorial. Thank you @needareaderapp!

Thank god for need a reader! The features and the readers, it’s perfect for auditions! No need to find a space (and pay extra) to film because it can all be done in the app and that is what makes it so convenient. All the features are pretty fantastic too!

Perfect act for actors so easy to self tape!! So easy to find a reader and can easily sight up to be a reader and help your fellow actors out!!
