I use this app every single day

Worth the price. This app is so useful. It is accurate, concise and easy to quickly navigate. I use it every day for prescribing psychotropic medication. From dosing schedules to recommended lab monitoring to pharmacokinetics, common side effects, best augmenting strategies, it really has everything. It uses the same format as printed Stahl textbooks, and having it in app format means it is always handy and never out of date. A subscription gives you access to useful short CME videos as well. I love this app.

Up-to-date and helpful

Super easy to use. Also has the child/adolescent information incorporated 🙌 I’ve found the app is updated with new approvals/indications/etc which is helpful while waiting for the next edition to printed. Thanks again!

Exceptional Psychopharmacology

This should be required for all prescribers of psychiatric meds. It answers all the questions that should be asked before prescribing and allows my care of patients to be as ‘elegant’ and exceptional as they deserve!

Unable to use

Downloaded on iPhone 11, won’t even allow me to sign up. Too bad, app was highly recommended by a friend.

NEI Members pay an annual fee that includes the app along with a library of online educational content and discounts to our live conferences.

Please update dark mode incompatibility

With the most recent update, text in the search field is not visible while in dark mode, nor can you see the text or indicating whether you are in adult or child/adolescent mode. Great app, but this detracts from its usefulness and appeal

Thank you for reporting the issue you are experiencing. We have discovered that this is the result of enabling dark mode. As a workaround, you can disable dark mode in iOS > Settings. Shortly, we will have an app update to eliminate this issue so you can keep dark mode permanently enabled without issue. Totally blank/clear text. Cannot see any information, only outlines of where text would be.

Great App - wish it had percentage release for stimulants

Update: the developers got back to me about the release of stimulants within 2 days of my posting a review requesting it. I am very impressed by the rapid response.

This app is great for helping with medication choices and is much more detailed than epocrates in terms of receptors. The information about children and adolescents is sound from the perspective of this child and adolescent psychiatrist.

Thank you for the feedback! If you click on Dosage Forms within each of the stimulants, you will see a table that has some detail about duration and peak of effects. In addition, we are currently reviewing the stimulant entries in an effort to provide more detail about all of the numerous formulations.

Log in?

To use the app, you apparently have to log in...but there are no instructions for doing so, nor is there a graphic way of doing so. Cosmic psychiatric joke? Looks pretty from the outside, though.

Amazing

How is it possible that the best reference guide for psychopharmacology is available in an easy to use format for your phone? If this app only covered the latest edition of Stahl’s Prescriber’s Guide it would be amazing, but with the continuous updates that are provided, it is truly unbelievable!

Hello Dr. Cotner, Yes; in fact, we keep the app up-to-date on an ongoing basis, so it will actually be more up-to-date than the print book. Hi Dr. Cotner, Thank you for the positive review of our app. Regarding your comment, you do not need to delete and reinstall the app in order to have the most up-to-date version. You simply need to run an update of the app on your device. For this, you would visit the app store, go to the Updates category, scroll to NEI Prescribe, and push UPDATE. This is the standard procedure to update any app if your device is set to "manual updates" instead of "automatic updates." I hope this is useful.

Please update to allow a longer log in! This makes it impractical as a practice resource due to repeatedly having to sign back in !

Glaring feature missing

The app itself is great and very useful. It's wonderful to have all that great info at my fingertips, however, I have to log in every single time I use it. For this reason alone, I find myself using Epocrates instead. It's unfortunate. I hope that gets fixed soon. I would use it all the time.
