NESN treats this app like a privilege not a right. Constantly debating canceling but I love the Sox too much to do so. Just prepare for the worst with this app it absolutely sucks in every way

If I could give this a negative number of stars, I would. I paid good top dollar for this worthless app, and even paid an annual payment payment, but I’ve finally had enough and canceled it, but I’m stuck with it. Anyone contemplating getting it should beware, about 90% of the time the program won’t even load, and when it does, it’s still awful - can’t start a game from the beginning, if you leave in the middle of watching a game, you can’t resume where you left off…among a myriad of other issues. Buyer, beware.

Worst app ever
I can’t believe they charge 30$ a month for this absolute piece of junk. I have had this now for three months and haven’t logged in once and have the game come on. You have to try three to five times before the game stays on the TV. What an absolute joke. This app has ruined the Red Sox experience for me. I want my money back. And I would give it 0 stars if that was an option

Waste of money
It makes absolutely no sense that as a person that has the MLB.tv subscription. I have to pay NESN on top of it for another subscription. As a person that lives out of the subscription zone for tv. Not worth it. Absolutely ridiculous that they do this. Just play it on MLB and call it good. Stop money grabbing and just let fans enjoy the dang game we love.

The worst app on the internet. Half the links don’t work. They don’t even have YouTube tv as a provider. John Henry is an out of touch rich guy that only wants to get richer. Pay a professional to build an app that works.

So frustrating!!!!
I wish I could give negative stars. It faithfully takes me 20 minutes every single time I try to open the app. It’s actually insane and on top of that when I finally get it open the current live game more times than not doesn’t show but whatever the last game played was does. I click and it says event has ended and I’m like yeah I’m aware I watched it yesterday… So then I I have to restart not only the app but my whole TV again to get the live game to come up. Constant issues constant constant constant issues I’ve never been more frustrated with an app EVER

Awful, pure trash
This app is complete trash, I don’t know who thinks this was acceptable to release to the public but they should be fired.
Terrible Service
Paying upwards of $100+, to have service that will then not allow local games to be streamed. Living in New England, one would think this is the purpose. However, the home game now says “out of your area”, even after geolocation. NESN needs to fix their service for what people are paying…

$30 bucks to not be able to watch games or watch it on 480 p like it’s 2008. Billion dollar corporation and they can’t figure out an app without ramming their closed fist up their own fans.

Worst streaming app imaginable
NESN has somehow done the impossible and created a streaming app that outright doesn’t work in 2026. I could get a high school CS class to create a better app than this garbage
So many bugs.
I love NESN. It’s the soundtrack of my childhood. But good god any time you actually interact with the screen, you have to go back out of the game and then back in, in order to reset the functions on the right. The volume for some reason jumps all over the place. I’ll keep using it because I need to watch the Sox, but for the price it has to be fixed.

Horrible, horrible, horrible. What a waste of money — don’t even bother. Lousy ill-designed app that barely works. Here’s a typical 60 seconds of a Red Sox game:
Watch game for 5 seconds.
Screen freezes for 15 seconds.
Buffering, buffering, buffering for 30 seconds.
Game returns, but in blurry fuzzy standard def resolution. For about 10 seconds.
Freezes.
Buffering, buffering, still frozen.
Totally black screen that says “NESN”.
Buffering, frozen black screen.
Kill the app, switch channel to Food Network.
I’m canceling my subscription and requesting a refund. NESN, scrap this thing completely and start over.
Watch game for 5 seconds.
Screen freezes for 15 seconds.

Constant issues simply watching the games. Insanely expensive, very limited selection of NESN content… For a company making this much money, you’d think they’d try a whole lot harder. It’s actually pretty humorous how little they care about ensuring this app is usable. Absolute rip off. Shame on John Henry and Fenway sports group. You’re a joke.
