Battery issues
Switched from Tailscale but noticed battery dying really fast, Check iOS battery stats and this app used around 26%. Seems very high drain.

App and VPN setting in iPhone says connected but unable to access any services routed through NetBird randomly, on iPhone 13 ProbMax, iPhone 14, and iPhone 16 pro max. Great idea though but this issue needs sorting as it prevents large scale deployment.

Don’t work DNS
The site's DNS doesn't work, it just won't open. I have clients on Android, Linux, Windows, Macos but this problem is only on iOS VPN just doesn’t work

Since I updates to the version 0.0.15, the app tells me im disconnected, even if I am connected
Still no VPN on demand
I’m writing this at the point of stopping using NetBird because there is still no VPN on demand feature and, to my knowledge, proper fixes for the battery drain issues. It’s a shame because the NetBird service is fantastic but without decent mobile client support in 2025 it’s not viable. For a service like this to work and be of use, a company needs to support (and support well) as many client devices as possible and this just isn’t happening at present. I may revisit in the future if this changes.

Great everywhere except iOS
Very happy with this on every other device, but the battery drain on iOS is unfortunately forcing me to look at alternatives.

If you don’t turn on lazy connections you get terrible battery issues, if you do you get disconnected after your phone is off for more than 15 minutes and routes will just sometimes not work when reconnecting.
They do not keep the runtime version up to date and is consistently well behind all other platforms. Sometimes I wonder if it’s completely unmaintained.

Promising
Gave it a test run and played around with the admin portal and its quite easy to set up but its not for me just yet. My entire internal infrastructure and dns configurations are mainly ipv6 with no real management over ipv4 except for dual stack for external access. If I were to use netbird in its current state then I’d have to work backwards and configure ipv4 statics and reservations for my servers and dns which Im not too keen on doing so I’ll have to pass for now. I’ll revisit it whenever ipv6 is supported.

Quality of life features Missing
I love your service, it works really well. I just wish for an implementation of VPN on Demand and it would be perfect
Unreliable
The function called “VPN on demand” not implemented, which makes it way less efficient battery wise then tailscale. It also keeps disconnecting. People have been asking for this for a longtime on github. Seems like the IOS stuck in beta. Great infrastructure let down by a weak IOS client.

It works good. One suggestion would be to allow turning on and off entire Networks. For example, if I want to ensure that I’m connected to k8s dev network, but not to prod network then turning on / off entire Networks would be a handy feature.
Good but can be better
Der Akku vom Telefon wird sehr schnell leer, keine wirklichen Einstellungsmöglichkeiten... Die normale wireguard app kann mehr. Es wäre toll wenn es ein wenig Entwicklung hier geben würde und man auch wie bei Wireguard vertrauenswürdige Wlans definieren kann damit ein automatischer connect oder disconnect passiert. Ebenso eine Konfiguration bei welchem Medium eine Verbindung hergestellt werden kann.
