Netsim Scan is an iPad troubleshooting console built only for X-Plane 12. It does not support X-Plane 11 or any other simulator. REQUIRED PLUGIN This app will not connect to X-Plane by itself. You must download and install the Netsim Scan plugin for X-Plane 12 from: https://www.katana-pilot.com/x-plane-12-plug-in/ Put the plugin in X-Plane 12/Resources/plugins, start X-Plane 12, then tap CONNECT on the iPad. Netsim Scan finds that plugin on your Wi‑Fi (Bonjour, UDP 49512) and streams live telemetry. An optional IP field is only a fallback if discovery is quiet. Allow Local Network when prompted. WHAT IT DOES? Once the plugin is running, Netsim Scan turns simulator data into a dark debug station in any orientation: position, systems, weather, hardware, and performance in one place. When the sim misbehaves, stop guessing. Connect, then work the findings—aircraft, weather engine, a silent DataRef, a paused session, or a machine that is simply out of frames. CONNECT WITHOUT TYPING AN IP Netsim Scan discovers the CFI Station 12 plugin over local Wi‑Fi (Bonjour). Tap CONNECT and the plugin host appears on UDP 49512. Optional IP is only a fallback if discovery is quiet. Allow Local Network when prompted. Once connected, the app streams DataRefs (RREF), aircraft pose (RPOS), and a keepalive. Pause is the only command sent to the simulator. Everything else is listen-only. TROUBLESHOOTING DASHBOARD Overview opens with live findings: plugin link health, position source (RPOS or DataRef), silent DataRefs, pause / sim-speed, FPS, Real Weather, and cabin-altitude sentinels. A metric strip shows sim time, time rate, frame rate, UDP feed, and plugin host. Work the rest of the console from the sidebar: • AIRCRAFT — flight model, engines, radios, autopilot, fuel, and systems watchlist • CONTROLS — USB / HID axes and buttons as X-Plane assigned them, so a dead yoke is obvious • DATAREFS — diagnostic watchlist with Diagnostic / Live / Not reporting filters and search • POSITION — lat, lon, elevation, heading, and groundspeed; flags mesh / AGL oddities • WEATHER — XP12 conditions at the aircraft: OAT, wind, visibility, QNH, Real Weather vs Static • MAP — ownship on a map from plugin pose, or DataRef lat/lon if pose is quiet • PERF — simulator FPS vs iPad packet rate, with a short playbook when frames drop • NETWORK — listeners, session traffic, and plugin message mix • LOGS — session log with pause and clear • TOOLS — discovered plugin hosts and XP12 issue playbook • CONSOLE — outbound CMND this session (Pause) plus RREF / GPS snapshot DATAREF GUIDE Browse and search the bundled DataRef catalog, or import DataRefs.txt from your X-Plane 12 install. The list stays on this iPad. WHO IT IS FOR Home-cockpit builders, instructors running X-Plane 12, and anyone who needs a second screen that tells the truth.
