I never review

Wonderful app, simplistic and very powerful.
Thank you!

notification on a page change

can the app notify me if there is an update on a clipped site?

Please add widgets!

This would be the best Home Screen web widget app if you guys added the new functionality for ios14. Would be amazing to get these widgets this easily and clean on the Home Screen. Hopefully that’s in your roadmap!

Selection is quirky at best.

The concept is great, and I paid for it for that alone in hopes that it can continue to improve. However the selection of content on a website is really “quirky”, and wont stick for some reason on most sites I’ve tried. This seems due to the selection being by pixel x-y coordinates rather than the DOM tree. If we could get a DOM Element Select option, this app would be amazing and a daily use. As is, unfortunately it’s something I will just be stuck keeping an eye on.

Admire the developers

Some tech giants are trying to steal our data, while others want to make a difference.

Great

Thanks for such a great app, but i would love to have full width webpage in the maximized widget mode ( not the thumbnail in the black rounded frame)

A clever and unique utility

I’ve had this app for a number of years and it’s a very clever concept that takes bookmarks to another level. I can control the thumbnail which makes it easy to identify the sites I want to visit.

Kudos for the developer for the app and for keeping it updated! Thank you!!

great dev

had an issue with compact mode and he got a fix out within a week. app definitely gets the job done.

Good idea, but...

Cannot shrink or rearrange snippets and they overlap. Does not look like examples given. Needs fixing.

Response from developer

You can rearrange snippet by long-tapping on a snippet.

Works ok

It works as advertised. Missing features I wish to be implemented:
- zoom / scale: if a snippet can be scaled to be a smaller size, more info can be seen in a small screen.
- background refresh: obviously missing

great concept, but doesn't work..

Widget doesn't update -- ever. It just shows the old cached page from the first time you set it up.

There are very few apps that offer web widget functionality -- and like this one , most of them don't work.

Misleading

This seems like a good app, but it's very misleading. It says it's free, but once you make two snippets you're informed it costs $4 to make any more. That should have been made clear from the start; It definitely would have been more than two stars if that were the case. Now I'm just frustrated and disappointed. You really shouldn't do that to your users. I don't even have that much on my iTunes balance...

Response from developer

We see it differently: We offer you an ad-free version of NetSnips completely without any costs or obligations. You can use it with up to 2 web snippets forever, but if you want to have more snippet and see value in the app you CAN purchase it. Doesn't that sound fair?

Awesome, useful app

The developer provides consistent updates, and the app itself is wonderfully useful. Powerful at what it does, but still very easy to use. I check it several times a day easily.

Not Quite Enough

The one crucial missing element is a notification that a page has changed by banner or sound. Without it, simply refreshing with Safari is just as good.

Great app has a lot of potential

Exactly what I needed!

I found this little gem yesterday, and after a couple of minutes using it, I HAD to buy the full version. As a shirt designer (Primitive Tool), I often have multiple designs up for voting at different sites. I keep opening tabs to monitor each one of them in my phone browser. Thanks to this app, I have them all in the same screen, updating automatically for me. I would love to see notifications in the future, maybe a way to know if anything has change on the snips if the app is closed. Keep up the excellent work!

A real treat

I love it and it is a pleasure so far

Good App, Only Getting Better

Was looking for an app to monitor auctions beyond E-bay. NetSnips is a much needed tool that I have only begun to find uses for. It allows you to grab a piece (snippet) of a web page and hold it in a very basic visual layout. The beauty of it for my auction tracking is, it holds the web address and a single tap on the snippet refreshes the page revealing the current auction status. Voila, simple auction tracking. Peruse the auction site from within the snippet, back out with a tap, on to another snippet to review another item and/or auction site without logging on and without typing in repetitive search criteria. Kind of like Bookmarks or the Reading List in Safari but more visual. Think stock quotes, sports scoreboards, movie listings, flight info, package status, fantasy data, weather forecasts as other possible snippets opening refreshed. Buy and use this app, it's like a hammer; no telling what you can do with it.

Poor design

Great idea. Terrible implementation. Crash after crash. Resizing is so difficult as to be almost impossible. I hope they get this app working and fix all the interface issues, because it is a neat idea.

unique app, well done

really cool app, does what it says cleanly. at first I didn't believe the description but it's spot on.
