About

NeuralVox: Uncompromising Privacy & Zero Hidden Costs In a software landscape dominated by subscriptions and data harvesting, NeuralVox is built differently. Communicating across languages is a fundamental need—one that shouldn’t require surrendering your personal data or your wallet. Part 1: The Privacy and Pricing Philosophy 1. 100% Free: No In-App Purchases NeuralVox rejects the software-as-a-service model. There are absolutely no in-app purchases, no premium paywalls, no hidden fees, and no subscriptions. Because all processing happens on your hardware, we don’t pay for cloud compute, passing that freedom to you. Once downloaded, you have infinite, unrestricted access to voice translation. Whether you use it five minutes or five hours a day, the cost is zero. 2. Absolute Data Sovereignty (On-Device) Your voice and private meetings belong to you. NeuralVox operates completely independent of the cloud. From the moment you grant microphone access, every syllable is processed locally on your device’s Neural Engine and GPU. We make zero network requests to external transcription APIs or translation servers. What you say in the room, stays in the room. 3. Zero-Knowledge Architecture We do not own remote servers, meaning we cannot collect your data. NeuralVox contains no telemetry tracking the languages you speak, whom you speak to, or your conversations. By relying entirely on on-device Core ML, we eliminate the risk of data breaches, man-in-the-middle attacks, or surveillance. 4. Secure Storage & Transparent Management Session histories and audio recordings are stored in your device’s secure sandbox using SwiftData, protected by hardware encryption. Privacy also means knowing exactly what software runs on your device. NeuralVox features transparent AI model management. You explicitly choose which Whisper AI models to download and can permanently delete them with a single tap. Part 2: App Breakdown & Architecture Beneath its privacy-first foundation, NeuralVox is a state-of-the-art transcription and translation powerhouse. It orchestrates a highly optimized pipeline that captures audio, transcribes it via AI, and translates it instantly. 1. The Dual-Panel Conversation Interface At the heart of NeuralVox is the TranscriptPanel, designed for seamless bilingual communication. The screen is elegantly divided: the top panel displays the source language in real-time, while the bottom presents the target language translation. As users speak, partial "in-progress" sentences update dynamically. Once a sentence completes, it locks into a persistent session history, ensuring natural conversation flow. 2. Dual-Engine Transcription Power NeuralVox offers two highly capable transcription engines: WhisperKit Engine: OpenAI’s Whisper models running directly via Core ML. NeuralVox supports multiple sizes (including large-v3-turbo). To prevent memory bloat, the app uses advanced sub-model prewarming, allowing even the largest models to load efficiently without crashing hardware. Apple Speech Engine: A fallback native integration utilizing Apple’s SFSpeechRecognizer for users preferring the built-in ecosystem or requiring maximum battery optimization. 3. Lightning-Fast, Intelligent Translation Translation in NeuralVox is powered by Apple’s native on-device TranslationSession. The app handles language switching using the NLLanguageRecognizer. On "Auto-Detect," NeuralVox analyzes the dominant language of incoming sentences on the fly. It smartly debounces language detection on partial phrases, waiting for a final sentence before locking the translation language. This prevents unnecessarily rebuilding the session, delivering instantaneous, stutter-free translations. A bounded in-memory cache resolves repeated phrases, reducing processing overhead.
