Excellent player but desperately needs to Not rely on a database
I have used this player for years and found it to be excellent and its support without peer.
That being said, Neutron’s biggest flaw is its reliance on a database. It needs to scan all files first; it cannot access files on the fly dynamically.
This will require substantial work, both redesigning and recoding but if one has a large collection, the scanning process becomes arduous (in my case about two hours).
Other players already do this; it’s Neutron’s turn.

A great player if a little hard to use
A wonderful music player with so much functionality. Would be nice to have true cloud functionality. And it is hardly user friendly. But my preferred way to listen to music through my receiver.

Best Sound
I’m just a 64 year old guy that likes to listen to music. I have tried countless ear buds and found some that I think are the best. But it was not until I got this player that I have heard parts in songs that I never knew were there. Yes, it takes some time to find the settings you like best, but WOW what a difference this app makes in the music I listen to.

This is the only player for a audiophile that wants to listen to full albums with background art work and common sense visualizations that correspond to the music playing, the extra work to configure and learn this program adds to the ritual of music playing akin to spinning expensive vinyl on a record player, and you’ll get better sound quality due to FLAC support. The only mature music player available.

Do not buy
This app is completely non intuitive. I wanted an app to replace my synology ds audio app, but I wanted one with gapless playback- because the pause between certain album songs annoyed me. There was no option to try this app, or I would not have purchased it. I read the reviews and said- well I’m tech savvy I should be able to figure out how to add my nas device. Well after 4 hours I got my nas added, but only while I’m at home- it won’t accept my domain name for remote play. The user interface is frustrating and disorganized- it was probably made by some old white guy because it’s not at all intuitive. It’s just a frustrating mess, with no instructions or video help. Do yourself a favor and just stay away from this.

The UI is wild and difficult to learn but it's amazing once you do. It's like the fighter jet of music apps!

Probably the most suitable app for local music play, but very archaic UI and not very intuitive.
Before update work bad but work
Before, to listen to Dsd , i had to turn the volume all the way up, but since the update that no longer works.

Der Player ist von UI her sehr komplex und bietet Tausende Einstellungen. Es ist zwar eine Lernkurve da. Design gefällt mir sehr gut. Was mir aber am besten gefällt, ist der Sound. Top 👍🏻

Пользуюсь плеером очень давно и на android и на iOS. Отличный плеер. Но на iOS есть один минус,который очень смущает. Почему нет виджетов как на android? Неудобно открывать через иконку,привычка пользоваться виджетом,почему их нет?

Horrible queue system
The queue system undermines its own purpose. When I add a song to the queue, I expect it to seamlessly integrate into the preexisting queue of songs currently playing. Instead, it creates a separate queue that feels more like starting a new playlist from scratch. While you can set it to automatically play the queue when adding songs to an empty queue, I’d prefer a system that behaves like Apple Music or Spotify. I don’t want my current song to be abruptly paused while the queue plays out, only to resume the paused song afterward. I want queued songs to automatically play later without manual input, either directly after the current song or at the very end of the current queue.
I was able to overlook the unintuitive UI due to its feature rich capabilities, but the queue system is a major dealbreaker. I regret my purchase.
