Finally given up.

I’ve finally had it. Because of my frustration with repeated subscription troubles with this app, year after year, I have deleted it from my iPad, and will never attempt to subscribe again. I say this with sadness, because I live four months each year in Santa Fe. But I’ve decided that my current subscription to the Santa Fe New Mexican newspaper, and regular visits to the website for the Santa Fe Reporter, will do just fine instead.
Shame on you, New Mexico Magazine, for your continuing technical incompetence.

Awful app

App never works right. Constantly signs you out of you account and stop recognizing your subscription. Then you have to message support to fix every time it happens. I won’t be subscribing again.

Worst app

Hands down the worst app on my device. They take your money sign you out and don’t allow you to any access. Don’t ask it to restore iTunes purchases it will lock your device up. Thanks for taking my money.

iTunes renewal a hassle every year

Since they switched, I have had to send “proof” of my itunes purchase every year. Now I get a message that says download new app version, which I already have.

Incredibly clunky mag app

I have been reading a lot of digital magazines during the pandemic and recently decided to resubscribe to New Mexico Magazine, having let my hard copy subscription lapse some years ago. Digital magazines go different routes — some through their own site/app, some through third party sites/apps. This is by far the worst interface I have experienced for a digital magazine. The others give you the feeling that you are reading the magazine, just in digital form. This one has a popout sidebar table of contents that lists titles and (irrelevant) page numbers but no descriptions at all. You only find out the topic by clicking, which takes you to a disembodied “page” with only that article. You never see the entire page as you would with a hard copy. This is the only digital magazine where I wish I had subscribed to the print edition instead.

Repeated and recurrent trouble

Ok. Second time this has happened. I pay for the online subscription. I can’t access my new magazines anymore. So basically I am paying for a service you won’t let me access. Also, I subscribed for years and STILL do not have access to all my older magazines I paid for access to. This app and organization repeatedly fail me as a customer and basically take my money while denying me service.

Sorry to hear about your access issues! We'd love to work with you to get them resolved. Please send us a detailed email to circ@nmmagazine.com so we can get you set up asap! We have three issues available on the app for you to enjoy now: May, June, and July 2020, and we are working over the summer to build one year's worth of back issues.

I will unsubscribe

This app has given me nothing but headaches for the past two years, including making access impossible in December and January because of a glitch that no one seemed to be able to fix, even after multiple phone calls to the magazine itself. This latest debacle, ably chronicled by many other subscribers, is the last straw. I am going to unsubscribe. Enough is enough.

Can’t link Subsciption

Something changed and I can no longer access content. Wants me to. Up new subscription or pay by issue. Good example of fixing what wasn’t broken.

Hi there! Unfortunately, we had an issue with our most recent issue upload (Jan/Feb 2021). Please try logging in again. If you have an active subscription and still can't get in, please email circ@nmmagazine.com so we can get that fixed for you. Thanks for reaching out - NM Mag

UPDATE: My issue is resolved!

The marketing coordinator for New Mexico Magazine emailed me and found that there was “an error in my fulfillment” she worked with the app provider to resolve the problem and now I’m able to access the back issues for 2020 (still can’t access anything older than a year without re-purchasing but this is a huge improvement!). Many thanks to the New Mexico Magazine Coordinator! I’ll be keeping my subscription.

I’ll be canceling my subscription to New Mexico Magazine. I still cannot access any back issues and I’ve been a subscriber for many years.

So when is the subscription service supposed to work correctly?
My renewal date is in November each year, yet I am still asked to start a Trial or Buy the individual magazine. I’ve “Restored Purchases”, “Synced my library” multiple times as instructed yet none of my previous magazines appear and it still asks me to start a trial or purchase.

App is unusable as it is! I want version 6.0 back.

I’ve subscribed to the old app for years and it worked just fine. The new app won’t let me access any of the previous magazines at all. Really disappointing. Would like to give it no stars.

Version 7.0.0 only allows me to view the three currently free New Mexico magazines (May2020, June2020, July2020). I’ve been a subscriber for years to New Mexico Magazine but can’t access the older magazines. I’ve tried their suggestions for Restoring iTunes Purchases and Syncing after creating an account but as of yet I am unable to access older copies of the magazines. Please fix this new version of the app!!!

Nice content if you can access it

Something changed that does not allow me to access my digital subscription. I tried ‘restore purchase’ but that failed. My subscription renews in March 2021 so my current subscription is still active. If I choose to cancel my current subscription there is no refund only an offer to access issues until renewal time - great if I could access them. Not sure where things are broken, not sure who to contact for resolution.

Furious

I’ve been a subscriber for a couple years. My renewal was a couple weeks ago and I was charged. The new app wil not allow me to access anything or restore my purchases. They don’t have any means of contacting anyone for help. So I’ve paid for this and can’t get it, nor can I get help. This stinks.

Poor upgrade

Lost all my previously downloaded issues and no apparent way to retrieve them, login issues from the beginning. Really not worth the price at this point!

Lost all access

New app refuses to restore anything to my library - was a subscriber via iTunes. When I tap on the option to restore my issues it tells me the action was successful but nothing ever appears. Just canceled my subscription and deleted the app. Won’t be back. Sorry...

Cant log in

I paid for the print magazine but can’t log in online. What’s the solution?
Now this review won’t send.
Joke app.

Unable to log in

Looks like the content is excellent based on the view of the covers (haha) but unable to login due to issues with digital subscription. I look forward to receiving the print copies I ordered, bit until the log in issue is fixed I cannot enjoy the digital media

App doesn’t work

I agree with previous review. Waste of app. Log in not functional.

Doesn’t work

I’ve tried several times....it will not let me log in! It wants to charge me. Yet I keep getting emails saying with my paid print subscription I have digital access. Very frustrating....when I have time I may call customer support but it seems like that’s not so helpful (per other reviews)!

App doesn’t work

app because it doesn’t work

It’s good when it works

When it works it is a nice layout. Mine has not worked since October 2018, I’m writing this on January 2019.I have gone back and forth with customer service about login issues. They keep saying it’s fixed but it still won’t work.

New Mexico

New Mexico magazine exudes the "entrapment" of the state and all it has to offer. I love looking at every page and wondering how how I could possibly visit every store, town, pueblo, etc. I look forward to each months issue to see where you take me next. Thank you for sharing your state with me.

Response from developer
