What’s the point?
I read a review commenting on the magazine on an iPad not filling the iPad screen. I said to myself, that surely must have been corrected. But no, it hasn’t. That’s absurd, hard to understand. Why can’t this be adapted for the wide screen iPad?

Why no dark mode?
The app is great but lack of dark mode makes it almost unreadable for long stretches of time. iOS settings can't make up for this please help! There are literally Reddit threads dedicated to this, please help a girl out!
New York Magazine App (IOS) Review...
- Thursday, January 22, 2026 - The app's content is excellent, as has been the case for years, even though much of it slants towards 'Left-of-Center' perspectives. The iOS app functionality is pretty good, although it is simplistic and could be enhanced (e.g., tabs and Sidebar, etc.) ONE flagrant demerit mars the reading experience, NO Dark Theme/Mode. Ideally, this issue could be corrected soon. Thank you.

Needs iPad Version
Love this app on my phone. Would love to use it on my iPad but, like Instagram, it has only been developed for mobile device use.

The New York Mag app is my favorite way to read my favorite publication. The app is very easy to use and is great for keeping up with stories while commuting.

Pretty absurd that a magazine app doesn’t have an iPad version, especially by this point. The entire purpose of this app is to READ and look at PICTURES… why wouldn’t you make this universal update?

I still subscribe to NY Mag after many years living away from NYC. The content is great, fun, irreverent, and useful. Please make the mobile app iPad-friendly - larger & landscape-compatible. Reading a teensy little rectangle on my nice big screen is frustrating. On the phone, fine. But let us take advantage of bigger screen real estate.

It’s a terrible app for the iPad. I can’t actually believe it is the app. It’s just a column and the rest of the page is black. Is it a joke?
Hate the new version for an iPad
When opening a story now, it is designed to be read on a phone, not an iPad. So it opens very small and narrow. Can this be fixed?
Room for improvement
Really needs dark mode. Also iPhone app does not translate well to iPad - the text is way too big and you can’t scan articles easily from the home pages
Why is landscape so hard?
Title says it all. So many publications have figured out how to present content in landscape orientation instead of portrait. WHY IS THIS HARD, NEW YORK???? If I put my iPad in a horizontal position, the screen shrinks to the size of my iPhone. If I wanted to read a magazine on my iPhone, I would. But I don’t . FIGURE IT OUT!!! Christ on a cracker!!!

Fixing or cancelling a membership
I have been trying to get access to my service here for well over a year. After I subscribed, I had no access. Your digital side was no help and can’t contact anyone at the magazine. I have sent so many emails to the digital side and never GET ANY RESPONSE. I am about to have to declare this as a fraudulent charge at my bank (because you have been billing me monthly for no access for k we a year or more ) or just cancel this card because no one will respond and that seems to be the only way to stop the madness! I used to love this site, but it is literally stealing from me.

Stopped working again
iPhone 15 iOS 18.2 logo displays and hangs - no further response. Tried deleting and reinstalling. Still won’t load.

You do realize the iPad has existed since before Vox Media was even founded, right? Why just an iPhone version?
No IPAD support!!!
Works fine on iPhone. Appears mini size on iPad. Magazines really blend themselves to to the iPad format. Hopefully future release will support iPad. If I don’t also get print version I would cancel immediately!!!
