Disconnect very often
Disconnected after you pickup some ball. Then need power off again and again. Need at least 5 or 10mins for keep connecting.
Concern
This new upgrade doesn’t work with IOS apple products. Wish it could be fixed.
Disappointed
I’m a national coach and have prescribed newgy 2040 and 2050 to many students over the years. and still do. But I’m afraid this robot falls short of expectations.

3050XL
I love my 3050XL I started off as a green as you can get and since using this robot for about 6 months I think I’m an advanced beginner now close to an intermediate player. Although I can handle the intermediate drills I have troubles playing intermediate players. Yes I had freezing issues when I first got mine and was very frustrated but since downloading the new app it seemed to fix the freezing by 98% it rarely happens now. Anyone who loves table tennis and wants to improve their game needs this robot. Also Newgy technical support is amazing very helpful and polite and they listen.

Stops randomly
App stops in the middle of the drill. Have to reboot the entire system, unplug Newgy, close app and then hope that it works.
Robot freezes during play
Like others have commented the robot would freeze during a drill. Have to unplug, reconnect, very annoying. Doesn’t happen everyday though; that’s the strange part. On the days that did happen, it occured every few minutes. Unplayable. Hopefully a software fix is coming?
Nothing is working for version 1.6.4
In Standard mode, press Start button will make the app hangs in setting up drill screen.
Selecting any drill mode will stop the the app immensely.

Needs manual control
The robot is unpleasant to use with the app. I prefer the 2055 robot because you can manually control the robot. Out of every hour of playing time on my 3050XL, 30 minutes is restarting the app and recalibration the robot. It needs major improvements.
Does not get through calibrarion bloody useless
As the robot won’t get past the calibration it means I’ve just paid $2000 for a net and a squeel machine if I plug it in; incredibly frustrating... have complained not hear back yet!
Needs more refinement
Having the same issues as eteachables the robot freezes right in the middle of a drill have to unplug robot and go through the pairing sequence again which is a little annoying obviously we need another update to fix this glitch hopefully one will be out soon
Unusable
The Robo 3050 is unusable and costs $1999. It’s completely dependent on app that requires a blue tooth connection to operate. The software doesn’t work, creates a glitch in blue tooth connection, forcing you to shut down robot and cancel the application. You can certainly turn robot back on, pair app and then experience a few awesome delivered balls but just when you get ready for another sequence (most of time during sequence), the robot gets stuck and only way to make it work again is to go through the same steps above.
If it worked as advertised, it would be worth the money. It’s not worth $1 if you can’t use it, which is exactly what is happening to me. Since it’s a software issue, it will be the same issue for you.

Update problem
Since updating the app, the robot setup no longer works for adjusting the ball height (distance).
Amazing App for an Amazing Machine
I couldn't be much happier with this app and this purchase! After the initial glitch with IOS 10, it's finally up and running with he newest update. Their customer service was excellent in communicating with me and fixing this with their software developers.
I love the user controls and the ability to go from serves to lobs with the pre-programmed drills. Manual programming is a snap as well!
Overall, this app, the company's customer service, and the Robo Pong 3050XL knock it out of the park!! For anyone, or group/team in a league, etc, interested in improving and taking their game to a whole 'nother level - this is the product for you! Thanks Newgy!!!
